Found on MSE Forums

"Newbie Alert

MSE requests you give newbies a chance - please be especially nice."

Should we adopt that here? Some seem to get their sick kicks in scaring newbies off by being particularly nasty, shouldn't posters be nice to newbies?

When I joined Mumsnet I started a post to say 'hello I'm new!'

On a friday night. Then I went to bed.

In the morning I found about thirty messages covered in wine glasses telling me things not to google.

Love you guys!

Ah.another mitmoo thread gone tits up!!! How refreshingGrin

I am relatively new here, I joined after realising I had been lurking so long it was becoming a little stalkerish Blush. I had obviously read many threads and got an idea of what the site was like, and what some individual posters were like... and I loved it, so much more exciting and sweary and funny than hunsRus other parenting sites. If someone joins a site and posst straight away without having a nose round they might get a shock at some peoples attitude, but if that happens they're as free to leave the site as easily as they joined.

'there is me asking for people to be nice and foul mouthed abuse follows.'

To be fair though Mitmoo you're not a newbie. They're abusing you because they know you.

I think you'll find that I was called a twat fairly early on.

izzywhizzyletsgetbusy · 25/08/2011 00:57

It seems to me Mitmoo that you post on this board so frequently because you are attention-seeking and want approval for your every unreasonable thought and deed.

If you have at long last found a forum where responders are universally naice to you, I hope you'll be very happy in your new home but I doubt it.

izzywhizzyletsgetbusy · 25/08/2011 01:04

Sounds like a typical mumsnet seance michelle. I keep telling them it's meant to be one wine glass, 26 letters, 10 numbers, plus 'yes' and 'no' Grin

:o This was more like 26 wine glasses. I got dragon butter, blue waffle, the lot! They were falling over each other going, that's nothing make sure you don't google THIS. With links :o

And I've been faithful ever since. Used to belong to a site with tickers counting down the seconds various people's little special precious angel pie pumpkin cherry darlings had before their first birthday.

Think I prefer reading about dragon butter
