Situation is, Have two ds (2.5 & 1.5). Dp and I were just using condoms up until i decided to go back on pill last month. I took one pill then as i started antibiotics and pill wouldnt work anyway i stopped taking it so oonly took one pill...a few days after a get a 'period' (breakthrough bleed - had only had real period a week previous). so my breakthrough bleed lasts about a week and for the next two weeks after this i have blacky/brown discharge every time i wipe but not enough for pad iykwim.

so yesterday ds1 announced at the dinner table that i have a baby in my belly which i thought was odd. This morning my boobs were sore and felt really bloated so did a test and it was bfp, bit faint but defo there. ive also just done a FR and it was also BFP.

BUT...do you think I am having a mis??im thinking maybe i have lost baby and that is why line is faint??? what do i do now, do i got to gp or ring maternity hosp???

So sorry it was sad news for you Boys, hope you are ok.

kevlarbrassiere · 26/08/2011 17:47

Hi BoysRusxxx, thanks for the update.

How are you doing?

It can be so upsetting getting news like this, I know you have two small ones, hope you can get some help so that you can get some rest. Even if you are not in pain, or experiencing heavy bleeding, its still good to be able to have some time to think (and mull it all over).

Take care.

Secrecy · 26/08/2011 17:55

So sorry to hear that Boys Sad

Claw3 · 26/08/2011 18:01

Ive been watching this thread, but didnt like to post and be all doom and gloom.

Exact same thing happened to me in April, very faint test, followed by light bleeding, no pain. I had mc too. So sorry to hear it is bad news.

BoysRusxxx · 26/08/2011 18:05

Thanks so much everyone Smile

It obviously wasnt meant to be and it has made dp and i decide we would like to have another baby so at least some good has come out of this :)

I didnt think id be this emotional but you know what its like. You bond with a baby the minute your get a bfp.

Sorry to hear that Claw, hope you get some good news soon Smile

Thats good you can take something positive from this, good luck to you too x

SouthernFriedTofu · 26/08/2011 18:18

I'm really sorry :( like Claw said, at least it opened your eyes to what you really wanted. Lots of luck when you do try xx

CoteDAzur · 26/08/2011 18:31

Sad for you, Boys.

I don't understand why you assumed "pill wouldn't work anyway" when you are on antibiotics. Iirc, the only ABs known to significantly decrease effectiveness of birth control pills are rifamycins and I very much doubt you we're prescribed those, because they are used to treat tuberculosis and atypical menengitis.

BoysRusxxx · 26/08/2011 18:39

I assumed it wouldnt work because my GP told me it wouldnt.

CoteDAzur · 26/08/2011 18:56

Which AB were you taking? I'm curious.

BoysRusxxx · 26/08/2011 19:07

I was taking Augmenten and Flagyl.

Boys :( I am so sorry.

I'm chuffed it's made you both realise you want to have another baby though - you'll have to keep us updated now.

Look after yourself - do/buy/eat something indulgent

PamBeesly · 26/08/2011 21:36

Sorry Boys, best of luck in the future x

CoteDAzur · 27/08/2011 08:14

Without meaning to bang on about this, you might like to point our to your GP next twere that were claims some 20 years ago that ABs may decrease the effectiveness of oral contraceptives, but recent studies show no effect.

Good luck with TTC & hope to read of your BFP in a few weeks Smile
