Situation is, Have two ds (2.5 & 1.5). Dp and I were just using condoms up until i decided to go back on pill last month. I took one pill then as i started antibiotics and pill wouldnt work anyway i stopped taking it so oonly took one pill...a few days after a get a 'period' (breakthrough bleed - had only had real period a week previous). so my breakthrough bleed lasts about a week and for the next two weeks after this i have blacky/brown discharge every time i wipe but not enough for pad iykwim.

so yesterday ds1 announced at the dinner table that i have a baby in my belly which i thought was odd. This morning my boobs were sore and felt really bloated so did a test and it was bfp, bit faint but defo there. ive also just done a FR and it was also BFP.

BUT...do you think I am having a mis??im thinking maybe i have lost baby and that is why line is faint??? what do i do now, do i got to gp or ring maternity hosp???

Good luck OP, hope you get the result you want. YANBU - if people don't like it, they shouldn't read it.

Oh and IME the faintness of the line isn't always an indicator how how pg you are. Make an Appt with your GP and he/she will be able to refer you. Fingers crossed for you.

BoysRusxxx · 24/08/2011 11:13

Thanks guys. I rang my maternity hosp and they put me through to EPU. they said to either go to GP or come in and they will do bloods. going to skip the gp to save ?50 and just go into them. I kind of feel a bit embarrassed like im wasting their time as really I could just see what happens over the next few days but I want to know TODAY!!!!

iloveroses · 24/08/2011 11:51

Good luck.

JanMorrow · 24/08/2011 12:06

Good luck. I had a bit of bleeding at the beginning of my last pregnancy and all was well in the end.

IgnoringTheChildren · 24/08/2011 12:17

I understand your impatience! They will need to do at least 2 blood tests at least 2 days appart to really give you an idea of what's going on - in a healthy pregnancy the hCG levels will roughly double in 2 days. The level from one blood test can also give a rough idea of how far along you are, however there is quite a large variation from one person to another so it's not that accurate. A lower increase (less than doubling over 2 days) in hCG levels can indicate a problem with a pregnancy, however some people have found this and gone on to have healthy babies.

I doubt you'll get a definite answer "TODAY!!!!" but hopefully you won't have to wait too long to find out. Smile Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Shutupanddrive · 24/08/2011 12:22

Please don't panic. Any line is a positive, however faint. It's good sign that your not in pain. I had bleeding very early on with ds1 but all was fine, its quite common. My friend has had this through all 3 of her pregnancies. Hope it all turns out well for you

MoominsAreScary · 24/08/2011 12:27

It can seem a long process, last time I had blood tests tues and Thursday and knew by Friday what the results were but I was under 6 weeks so they didn't do a scan until later on

I've had bleeding with all four of my children, one was spotting just after I found out I was pg, with two I thought I was having periods but were prob implantation bleeding i found out at the dating scans i was further along than i thought and with ds2 I had heavy bleeds worse than a period with clotting up untill 24 weeks

How many weeks do you think you might be?

BoysRusxxx · 24/08/2011 22:23

Just to update, I went to EPU they did scan but nothing showed up as im only 4 weeks-ish. She did say I have a corpus luteum cyst (or something like that) that are common in early pregnancy so that is a good sign. So then she sent my urine sample to lab to be checked and it came back positive. she then did bloods and have to go back on friday for second bloods so will let you know :)

PamBeesly · 24/08/2011 22:32

Congratulations boysrusxxx I hope everything works out.

LoveBeingAtHomeOnMyOwn · 25/08/2011 07:27

Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

The scan is not anything to worry about. In fact when I had my internal scan post mc to make sure everything is ok, it turned out later I was pg again already Shock but was too early for them to see. And believe me they had a look old look around!

SayCoolNowSayWolef · 25/08/2011 08:01

Fingers crossed Boysrus, sounds positive though :)

BoysRusxxx · 26/08/2011 13:49

Just back from EPU. My HCG levels were 38 on weds. Nurse said she thought it was a MC but when i got outside i googled HCG for 10DPO (which i would have been on weds) and it said 15-34 so it was in right range.

When I got out of EPU i did a boots test and it was pos but very faint.

They are ringing me at 3pm with todays HCG results, say a prayer everyone Confused

I had the same at 5+6 and did not miscarry. Sonographer said it had probably just burrowed into a blood vessel. It lasted for a few days but brown spotting carried on afterwards for weeks.

Hope all goes well for you.

Quenelle · 26/08/2011 13:56

Sorry, did not read to the end. Am crossing everything for you.

MoominsAreScary · 26/08/2011 14:11
