to not want to go to tesco's

AIBU not to want to go food shopping with DS 3yrs (who is in a foul mood), being 34 weeks pregnant with SPD and having contractions if i walk more than a few yards (been checked all is ok). Also bit down, my nan died last week, funeral is wednesday so all in all not feeling 100%.

DH was going to go and get a few bits (don't need a full shop) last night but forgot that 24 tesco's shuts on a sunday evening. I did say i might go today but can't face it. DH got stroppy with me on te phone when i said i couldn't manage it today.

Done a tesco order online to come first thing tomorrow.

Am i being a wimp?

No not at all - surely it is best to stick to online shopping?

Hell no! I don't like going to Tesco on the best of days, and it sounds like you have enough on your plate at the momment. If it's such a big deal, your DH can stop off on the way home.

feeling a bit sensitive so may have snapped at DH a bit when he said 'well why not?'

yeah we have enough bit cheesesarnie - just top ups needed. Think he forgets that i'm finding it hard. If i say i'm tired he asks why? He's never been good at the emotional support thing but is lovely really.

Someone on here once suggested strapping 2 stone of spuds on the front of her DH and making him walk around so he could get some idea of what being pregnant is like...............might try that (when we have enough spuds )

I hate going to Tesco and I'm not pregnant. Have used online shopping for ages. My argument is that it helps me budget

I did once weigh a load of tinned products to get the weight I had put on, then gave it to DH. He was a lot more understanding after that and also I finally realised why I couldn't some things as well as I wanted to and stopped feeling s pathetic.

I'm 37 weeks with a 3.5 yr old dd and I screamed told dh last week I wasn't going to the supermarket anymore and was gonna start having it delivered. So you are defo not unreasonable otherwise I would be too

We started online shopping when morning sickness with DS meant that walking around the store became impossible due to all the food making me want to puke - DS is 4.5 now and I blame not going on it being a nightmare with 2 kids :)

Definitely use the budgeting argument. The £4 it costs is more than saved on the stuff I don't pick up because it caught my eye.

If you've got enough food to last till the order comes then you don't need to go and have a more than valid excuse for having it delivered IMO. Any 1 of your reasons should be enough on it's own

Will ring DH in a bit (always do when he is on lunch) and make my peace. I know i'm snappy at moment but he doesn't help! Think my mood is rubbing off on DS (or it could be the other way round!). Still DS is watching 'Misty Island' for the 100th time in about a month and all is quiet!

Oh and if you use mysupermarket you might even save some money, hopefully at least the delivery charge

No you're not. I've just come back from there myself. I'm 6 months pregnant and have a toddler, and I feel like it brings out the worst in me every time I go. Plus when toddler kicks off I feel like people are judging!

Not unreasonable at all. Online shopping can be a godsend sometimes, and it sounds like this is one of those times! Well worth the delivery charge IMO.

Your DH could be a bit more understanding! Fine for you to apologise for being snappy, but make sure he understands just how difficult it is for you to do seemingly 'normal' things at the moment, sounds like he's having a bit of an empathy failure!

Well i called him at lunch to say order done, sorry for snapping....all good. Then DS starts digging his foot in my leg (we were at the table finishing lunch).....sounds minor but DS knows this irritates me and is grinning at me. I firmly but nicely say DS stop that please I have told you not to do that, it hurts. DH says....don't take it out on him now! Arghhh! Men!

I prefer ANY supermarket to Tescos.

We normally do Aldi (because its cheap!) but can't face them throwing my shopping at me as fast as they can! normally see it as a challenge but not today!

I get my Tesco order delivered on a weekly basis, and my dh and I are currently childfree and fit as fiddles. We just don't like going food shopping (and it actually works out cheaper!).

If I were 34 weeks pregnant, I would use that as an excuse to make a pillow fortress and not leave the house for 6 weeks. I hope a little empathy helps in some way, even if it isn't forthcoming from your dh.

Have ordered mine now, this week should have been an aldi week for me too, but asda was the cheapest plus more food than I would have got at sainsburys who were next best!
