Global Economic Collapse?

Have seen various posts on FB and reading similar in papers about USA eventually & inevitably going bankrupt which will apparently lead to a global economic collapse?

Looking for someone really to give a cheerier perspective that knows more about economics than me, not difficult :)

The only 'cheery' outcome I think, as mentioned above, is that people will stop worshiping money, house prices will likely return to affordable levels and hopefully people will realize what's actually important in life.

The worst outcome I think involves the US and the religeous right. They really do believe that God blessed America, if and when China becomes the new world power I think there is a real danger that someone like Palin or Buchannen will take extream measures.

Not clever enough to add anything, but a very interesting thread.

The recession being over is clearly rubbish.
