Just that really.

DS2's leg

DS2 fell on some shop bought chips at the coast 2 weeks ago, this is his leg today. Still infected but on the mend.

surely the warning then is relating to any freshly cooked food, which we all pretty much encounter day to day. only in this case we need to be careful when holding said hot food incase we fall, drop the food, and land in it.

TheLadyEvenstar · 18/08/2011 17:20

ruddy, was just saying be careful sometimes they are hotter than you think/expect.

southmum · 18/08/2011 17:35

Is this not just a freakish accident?

TBH the minimum I expect from chips is that they are hot Confused

BootyMum · 18/08/2011 17:46

Yes but not so hot they would cause such an injury!

activate · 18/08/2011 17:49

poor thing

have to say though it's not the kiosk bought chips is it? It's a burn (and looks sore) - he could've got it on home-made chips or anything deep fried

TheLadyEvenstar · 18/08/2011 18:10

Yes he could have burnt it on any bit of food. But I ever expected these to have been so hot.

Booty, it was worse Sad

TLES, what's happening with regard to the ToysRUs porn stuff?

TheLadyEvenstar · 19/08/2011 11:22

BoE, I have a new tablet straight from Elonex and am still waiting from feedback from TrU

I wonder if they will ever get to the bottom of it.

beckybrastraps · 19/08/2011 11:26

This is reminding me a bit of the woman who sued McDonalds because she rested a cup of coffee between her legs while driving and it split and burnt her.

Infected burns nasty TLES - ouch!

TheLadyEvenstar · 19/08/2011 11:30

Becky I am not suing anyone. It was an accident simple as that, I was just saying be careful.

BoE, They haven't returned any of my emails/calls so it seems they have gone silent or maybe Elonex are dealing with them and so they won't talk to me.

OP posts:
BertieBotts · 19/08/2011 11:32

But that coffee was found to be heated to 200 degrees or something - not the usual 70ish.

TheMonster · 19/08/2011 11:33

Didn't that result in the 'warning: hot' signs going on to coffee cups?

SnapesMistress · 19/08/2011 11:35

TLE I can see your rl name and your profile picture of you and your son from that link you put up. I would change it.

BertieBotts · 19/08/2011 11:35

Oh ok - 180F. Coffee normally being 130-140F. The difference was crucial in the case I think.

TheLadyEvenstar · 19/08/2011 11:36

Snapes its going back on lock down now Grin

OP posts:
BimboNo5 · 19/08/2011 11:37

I dont really think it warrants a 'warning' as such as its such an unusual thing to happen. But your poor DS, hope he recovers soon.

TheLadyEvenstar · 19/08/2011 11:38

should be done now.

OP posts:
TheLadyEvenstar · 19/08/2011 11:39

I had to redress it last night as the red ring round it has flared up again and was hot to touch.

Am getting a gp's appt for asap.

OP posts:
beckybrastraps · 19/08/2011 11:44

I know you're not suing. It just reminded me of that story.

SnapesMistress · 19/08/2011 11:45

Yep, can see nothing now :o

TheLadyEvenstar · 19/08/2011 11:47

Snape, good to hear Grin

Becky, thing is they were so hot that 8-10 minutes after they were bought they were still too hot to eat and we were sitting in the open (on the beach) with them on paper plates.

Poor DS2 was in agony but kept playing, I tipped freezing water on the burn immediatly but it made no different.

Jaquelinehyde · 19/08/2011 13:02

Chips that are boiling hot 10 mins after buying/cooking them, even though in the open air Shock

Them there sounds like magic chips and I want some, ours are always bloody freezing after a 2 min walk from the shop wrapped in paper and in a bag.

Not fare! Where was this chip kiosk I need to investigate and make it my local

TheLadyEvenstar · 19/08/2011 14:57

this is how it has got worse

This photo is on my selling page. Grin
