To let my 2 year old play naked.

We were in the local park today. It has a new sand and water area which wasn't open last time we were there.
DD was happily playing in it, pumping the water tap affair and ended up with her jeans and top drenched. She stripped them off and carried on playing in just her knickers. She eventually got these soaked too and as she hates wet knickers, took them off.
I only had 1 clean pair and 1 clean dress with me so let her carry on in the buff as she was having fun.
There was a couple of women giving cat's bum mouths but I ignored, she's 2 FFS and I was right there with her. Not sure what was going to happen to her.

Anyway was telling DH tonight and he was really shocked I'd let her do this. I just think there's nothing more lovely and innocent than kids not giving a damn.

All this hygiene/sand in their bits - FFS do you never go to the beach? Do you really think pants or swim bottoms make any difference?

My DD is one of life's naturists, and frankly the fight to get her to put clothes on in case of cats bum mouths or lurking paedophiles just woudn't be worth it. I've also previously posted about her predeliction for remaining in her pjs for shopping trips.

Well there actually was a man arrested at one of out local parks very recently for behaving inappropriately while watching kids in paddling pool, many if whom were naked.

i love seeing little children naked, ds is not overly keen unless he is at home. its wonderful to have no inhibitions. sadly there have always been and always will be people that are attracted to young children but this should not stop them having this freedom, it does not last long let them feel free and be innocent of fears for as long as possible

I don't think Rita is being absurd - merely asking whether you (one) honestly believes the arrested man would not have been there if the kids were in swimsuits. He was there because there were children there - states of dress or undress probably had nothing to do with it.

I just came back from holidays in the lake district in Poland-all toddlers were running around naked. DD took off her waterproof nappy every time we went down to the lake. Should I have made her keep it on because some adults find 2yo's bottom disgusting?

Everyone has an opinion, some people just don't like to see it.
For me, it has nothing to do with the Childs age. I don't particularly want to see their bits even if they are getting their nappy changed. Nothing to do with sexualising the child.

Either he was behaving inappropriately because they were naked, or what they were or weren't wearing is irrelevant. Children shouldn't have to alter their behaviour to stop the actions of perverts.

I imagine that all of the people finding toddlers' nakedness disgusting must have very strange relationship with their own bodies.

But Banana I am genuinely baffled at the idea that someone doesn't 'like' to see a babies genitals when they are naked - be it on a beach or getting their nappy changed - as they don't register to me any more than, say, their arm or leg. It is - and continues to be - just another part of the body.
