to take dd2 to her toddler group if dd1 had chicken pox last week?

Only we haven't actually been able to go for the last three weeks. Dd1 is pretty much over it now, all the spots have scabbed over. Not honestly sure though if dd2 hasn't had it. Before dd1 came out with it, dd2 was really grumpy and off her food for a couple of weeks, and she's had about five spots on her face that I just thought were spots.

It could be entirely possible that she actually had it first and just didn't get many spots, as I have seen that happen before. Of course if she hasn't had it and is brewing it up as we speak, AIBVU by taking her out if she's possibly contagious?

There is no requirement to quarantine contacts of chicken pox.

If you decide to do so, there isn't any point unless you do so properly.

The incubation period is up to 3 weeks. You are infectious only in the couple of days before spots appear, until the time they have all dried up and crusted over. To quarantine effectively though, this would mean keeping your DD2 in isolation for a full three weeks from when DD1 crusted over.

Oh blimey, I don't really want to do that!

So might as well take her then.

Thanks. Smile
