We need to cut spending on nucelar not the police

AIBU to think that, given our biggest threats to defence come from internal terrorism and rioting, we shouldn't be putting money into out-moded weapons when that money could, instead, be used to maintain a strong police presence on the streets.

If we no longer had a nuclear option, would we need to alter the wider defence planning/spending assumptions? That could be quite expensive, and it might not yield the savings expected.

How much money are you envisaging BTW?

And are police the only/top priority? According to some posters, the cuts to EMA and the number of youth workers are direct causes - perhaps they should be replenished first?

Have you considered that the weapons we have now might be the reason we don't get attacked in the conventional way.

There are still countries in the world invading others you know.
