Pregnancy = increased discharge = need of pantyliners everyday. It's better than having manky knickers at the end of each day!

...why do people bleach their knickers...? Confused

RollingInTheAisles · 12/08/2011 21:49

Some type of chemical reaction DGC

Ivortheengine8 · 12/08/2011 21:49

Some women have weak pelvic floors (like me Grin) so when I have a bad cough for example I can leak a bit so I wear them then.

Avinalarf Grin Grin I love that film!

OldLadyKnowsNothing · 12/08/2011 22:07

Ivortheengine8, people don't intentionally bleach their knickers, with chemicals. But some of us produce secretions that do it anyway.

Selks · 12/08/2011 22:12

Because being peri-menopausal my periods are totally erratic and follow no pattern, so I often don't know when I am coming on. Also get urinary urgency sometimes with escaping little bits of wee. I work in the public sphere and am often in appointments for a couple of hours at a time, so like the security of a panty liner or pad.

DontGoCurly · 12/08/2011 22:23

Confused Chemical reaction....caused by their own body you mean?

DontGoCurly · 12/08/2011 22:25

Ivortheengine8 · 12/08/2011 22:36

anything there DGC? Grin

OldLadyKnowsNothing · 12/08/2011 22:36

Ivortheengine8 and DontGoCurly, I guess if you don't do it, it would seem freakish to you. I do, I always have, it's bog-standard normal to me.

I never even thought about it until a previous MN thread, where I discovered that not every woman does. Grin

DontGoCurly · 12/08/2011 22:37

All clear except for a few barnacles

DontGoCurly · 12/08/2011 22:38

I'm quite impressed really that people have chemistry going on in their undies, slightly jealous actually! Grin

Ivortheengine8 · 12/08/2011 22:38

I'm sure it has happened before at some point....maybe just not taken much notice OLKN. I'm more used to pee at 30 weeks pregnant and a fast deteriorating bladder. :(

Ivortheengine8 · 12/08/2011 22:40

DGC, I think you should go and see your Dr about that...

OldLadyKnowsNothing · 12/08/2011 22:41

Hope it all gets better for you soon, Ivortheengine8. Brew

Sariah · 12/08/2011 22:43

Because if I don't I get a bit whiffy. I do not have anything that can be treated eg bacterial vaginosis or anything dodgy but I notice an odour if I dont wear one. I shower and change underwear every morning and change panty liner around 3 times a day. It is something I just have to live with.
