Pah, those miserable sods at Sesame ave called the wedding off as too controversial, I was rather looking forward to it, this would have been bigger than the royal wedding had it gone ahead Sad

Suncottage · 12/08/2011 11:04

Is nothing sacred anymore? What does Big Bird think about it all?

cheesesarnie · 12/08/2011 11:04

ApocalypseCheeseToastie · 12/08/2011 11:04

Oh, honestly.

itisnearlysummer · 12/08/2011 11:05

To be fair, I think we all saw it coming.

ApocalypseCheeseToastie · 12/08/2011 11:05

It was never on was it, just a petition online to ask SS to do it?

ApocalypseCheeseToastie · 12/08/2011 11:06

I didn't

picnicbasketcase · 12/08/2011 11:06

I think they have a very good point - puppets don't have any sexual orientation, so why would they get married?

ApocalypseCheeseToastie · 12/08/2011 11:07

And why, may I ask, did mumsnet not support this petition ?

OP posts:
FantasticVoyage · 12/08/2011 11:07

Why do Bert and Ernie need to be married?

I don't remember a huge clamour for Morecambe and Wise to get married when they shared a bed.

ApocalypseCheeseToastie · 12/08/2011 11:08

Because they loved each other picnic ?

Or does that not count for anythig these days ?

cheesesarnie · 12/08/2011 11:08

faverolles · 12/08/2011 11:09

I thought Bert had died years ago Confused

StealthPolarBear · 12/08/2011 11:10

do you think Ernie's just in it for the pension money then?

picnicbasketcase · 12/08/2011 11:10

Died? Shock Do they usually kill off puppet character on Sesame Street?

MyCatHasStaff · 12/08/2011 11:11

Bert is fascinated by pidgeons
It would never have worked.

thesortinghat · 12/08/2011 11:15

Picnic that just made me lol :o

I want to know what Oscar the Grouch said, he strikes me as bigoted.

Didn't George, Zippy and Bungle share a bed, who knows what was going on there.

faverolles · 12/08/2011 11:16

My mistake, sorry Blush. It was an unfounded rumour. I googled it.

In light of the fact he is still alive and well, I think they should get married to celebrate.

cheesesarnie · 12/08/2011 11:17

Shock seriously i have to hide this thread,my children is disapearing down the drain.

cheesesarnie · 12/08/2011 11:18

childhood i mean Grin.my children are fine

Honeydragon · 12/08/2011 11:21

they have lived together since 1969, why force them to partake in an outdated ceremony. It's just a piece of paper etc etc

thesortinghat · 12/08/2011 11:23

Is Rainbow a gay pride metaphor?

ApocalypseCheeseToastie · 12/08/2011 11:41

I know but they should be out and proud at the very least. Maybe a cermony of love ??
