ClaireDeLoon · 11/08/2011 16:03

mrsdonkeybucket · 11/08/2011 16:08

I wouls say velvety, yes.

What about an adult tiger ? Do you think they would be velvety ?

Pin0t · 11/08/2011 16:08

A Panda Bear is not a bear?

mrsdonkeybucket · 11/08/2011 16:08

*would, sorry

AbsDuCroissant · 11/08/2011 16:08

Who would have thought that a thread pondering the relative fluffiness of different animals could get to 260 posts ...

ScrambledSmegs · 11/08/2011 16:08

I've just discovered pygmy goats. Silky. Cuuuuuuuuute.

I've heard things about ducks. Not wanting to de-rail, but is it true they're sex offenders?!

Pin0t · 11/08/2011 16:09

[ This is Abs cat/kitten video - it's on my kitten thread toooooo]

I want a Pygmy goat.

AMumInScotland · 11/08/2011 16:11

No I'm pretty sure Giant Pandas are (genetically speaking) bears. And Red Pandas are raccoons IIRC. At least that's what genetics was saying 20 years ago when I studied that sort of thing. I suppose they may have changed their minds again of course!

ClaireDeLoon · 11/08/2011 16:11

Cats - noses and ears velvety, tum fluffy and often silky.

Anyone willing to volunteer to try and stroke a tiger's tummy to see if it's fluffy? I'm still traumatised after trying to zerbert our cat's stomach and having him remove part of my ear.

The only thing I know about polar bear hair is that it's not white but colourless. I think it's hollow, too, for insulation purposes, but please don't quote me on that.

I do know for a fact that one mouthful of a polar bear's liver would fell an elephant owing to its toxic levels of vitamin A.

ShirleyKnot · 11/08/2011 16:14

I think that mountain lions are probably prickly rather than velvety.

The pig in a tea cup - although micro pigs are lovely and cute they are BRISTLY not velvety.

AuntieMonica · 11/08/2011 16:15

i know Abs, but it's been a fabulous antidote Smile

a bit like the fb event, 'anti-riot - have a cup of tea'

ShirleyKnot · 11/08/2011 16:15

Polar bears are HOLLOW?

Timpson · 11/08/2011 16:17

i wonder if the police released a load of puppies, miniature pigs and finger monkeys during the riots it would quell them a bit (apols for mentioning the R word)....like the policeman with the sooty puppet behind his riot shield....
