I'm talking about this strike through thingy. I don't understand. Is it meant to be witty? Is it so you can say unkind things but pretend you didn't?

no need to reply, really. So unimportant but I have a lot of time on my hands today

Do some of the seasonal ones work out of season?

Maybe not

Georgimama · 11/08/2011 17:04

thank you thank you thank you for that thread link, if it weren't for the geographical location I would be convinced some vague friends of ours were Mr and Mrs Chopsy, they sound very similar. Everyone should know a couple like that.

I also love the way even the funniest of threads can get derailed by some arse up stick pooper.

I am very annoyed that you can't do strike-throughs on twitter/FB etc. and delighted that you can do them on blog posts. I'm afraid I find them amusing, and the little arrowy thingies too. Hate the Biscuit and the [pombear] though.

FlamingoBingo · 12/08/2011 01:08

I also love when ppl on twitter use #hashtags wittily - or not so wittily in my case :D

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 12/08/2011 09:32

Oh yes, I love amusing hashtags!

I'm about to give up.

glitterkitty · 12/08/2011 11:06

Can someone talk me through an amusing hash tag please?

[moon]

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 12/08/2011 11:54

OK, first example I could find:

'Rioters turned up so we necked a bottle of Liebfraumilch and put Dolly Parton on at full volume. They soon fucked off.' #LondonRiots #pussies

glitterkitty · 12/08/2011 13:03

so you hash tag 2 different things- one genuine and one mocking?

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 12/08/2011 13:09

In this case yes, because LondonRiots was obviously a real one. But you can just make up your own fake hashtags for amusement purposes.
Here's one featuring just one hashtag, a fake one:

'Why has no Julian Cope fan ever named their child Jellypop Perky Jean? #wokeupwondrin'

shakey1500 · 12/08/2011 13:28

I love the strikethroughs and It's their usage that makes me laugh the most.

Same for twitter hash thingies. They can be funny. Took me a while to get the hang of but I am particularly proud of my recent one Grin

Whilst meaning to post "School run should be fun #shitweather" I actually posted-

"Scholl run should be fun #shitweather"

Followed swiftly by-

"Scholl? I don't own a pair honest #shitweather"

shakey1500 · 12/08/2011 13:34

Bugger. That second one should have said-

"Scholl? I don't own a pair, honest. #shitfootwear

MoominsAreScary · 12/08/2011 13:41

Haven't tried it, I'm too lazy tired to bother! Is that right?

aquashiv · 12/08/2011 13:48

As a newbie I wondered this myself...also the thing about how to donate action I find amusing.

AlpiniAddict · 12/08/2011 14:19

I love strikethroughs and . They make me piss myself laugh quite a bit Grin
