Something about weddings perhaps. Or mad neighbours.

Or leaving a preemie while you go waterskiing.

Share your memorable AIBU topics if you feel like it.

The Monogomy thread when everyone was arguing for and against it and suddenly someone said they gave their dh a blow job 10 mins after giving birth!!! The thread took a different turn.

LadyBeagleEyes · 10/08/2011 18:20

It seems that so many of the threads that have the potential to be classics are getting deleted very quickly now.
A little bit of piss taking from some posters, which has sometimes had me crying with laughter just disappear in a puff off smoke.
There is a massive difference between the above and blatant bullying but some posters take umbrage about anything and report.

Oblomov · 10/08/2011 18:23

Agree with LadyB. Many of the great threads are being deleted too quickly, over nothing. And thus not there, for the likes of me, who missess most of the good ones.
Think MN need to be a bit more lax in this area.

youarekidding · 10/08/2011 18:30

My all time favourite thread - sure it was an AIBU - was the dog shit on my blanket. Grin That also turned into a discussion about shit and shat.

youarekidding · 10/08/2011 18:30

no shit on the PICNIC not the blanket.

Blatherskite · 10/08/2011 18:32

The Beesimo one was fab and MadameLupino's round-up is perfect.

Bless, Bessimo and her Lass had got all mixed up with thier sterotypes and swore they were Gypsies from Yorkshire while typing in a Newcastle/Scottish mashed accent.

I happily wasted a whole night reading that thread before it went poof :)

Blatherskite · 10/08/2011 18:33

I remember the blow job one too ledkr She'd mentioned it as what was supposed to be an aside and it became the focus of the thread within seconds.

MadameLupino · 10/08/2011 18:41

I agree that the good ones go poof too easily. I mourn them Grin.
One of the nethuns invasions also had me roaring and I am very sad that I missed the thread where Caroline Pedlars came on to have a pop.

superjobee · 10/08/2011 18:45

so whats with the bat and terry wogans man bits?

Blatherskite · 10/08/2011 18:55

Terry Wogan's cock and the bat were the original Brew, used to defuse thread and generally turn them silly :)

superjobee · 10/08/2011 18:58

aaaaah thank you :)

Eglu · 10/08/2011 19:01

AIBU to be pleased the Salmotrutta started the linking to the threads so I can now read all of these funny threads. Some I remember but some are new to me.

Salmotrutta · 10/08/2011 19:05

Glad to be of service!! Grin

InfestationofLannisters · 10/08/2011 19:37

Yes, thank you Salmotrutta!

MinnieBar · 10/08/2011 21:09

Oh the Sharon/wine one is the type of thread that makes MN worth looking at! Fabulous.

CheerfulYank · 10/08/2011 21:26

I want to see the blowjob one! I miss everything good! Someone find it and link, puh-leeeze?

Hahhaa, I walked around for an entire day saying "A dog has shat my picnic" and giggling to myself. :o The best part was when the OP was trying to describe the dog and said it was black and brown, sort of pebbledash. And someone replied, "I think it was your blanket that was pebbledash, mate!" PMSL!

Jacksmania · 10/08/2011 22:37

What was the Sharon/wine one?

I remember the one about the dog shitting on the picnic blanket, I cried :o

CheerfulYank · 10/08/2011 23:13

Jacksmania I linked to the Sharon/wine one at 15:31. Just NUTS. :o

Jacksmania · 11/08/2011 00:05

Oh duh Blush sorry!

Thumbwitch · 11/08/2011 00:43

CY - you absolute wretch sweetheart!! I've been crying with laughter over Sharon and the wine for the last half hour or so, it's beyond anything I've ever read for sheer nuttiness! Can't believe I missed it before, must have been while I was in the UK and not on MN much.

Jacksmania · 11/08/2011 00:59

OMFG - that thread is NUTS. Completely surreal. My head hurts now.

Tortoiseonthehalfshell · 11/08/2011 04:16

Jacks, yes, that's right, the woman who started off posting on years' old threads about the right to choose female practitioners and only female practitioners understood the female body and no woman should accept male attendants at birth/pregnancy/tooth extraction and it was alla bout being empowered in a womanly way.

And then, an hour later, started bumping a bunch of threads to say that you shouldn't have a home birth with midwives, totally unecessary, she herself freebirthed with her (male, one presumes) husband as sole attendant, which was perfectly logical because he was an electronics engineer or something.

Utterly bonkers.

Fillybuster · 11/08/2011 10:55

what a relief to have some proper AIBU silliness back in my life....shame there's no good current ones - I missing settling down for a morning of sniggering with the metaphorical popcorn...

EggyMcEggMcSandwich · 11/08/2011 13:50

My favourite thread wasn't a bonkers one but the OP was the 'most ever' Not Being Unreasonable - she was livid because her DD, despite lots of rehearsals, bumped off playing Cinderella in the school play. School said it was because DD had a day off sick (D&V) and that apparently was unacceptable. Headmistress and Dd's teacher acted appallingly and the OP was in the end victorious. A marvellous thread

Thumbwitch · 11/08/2011 14:32

I remember that one, EggyMcEgg - it was shocking what the school were up to! Yes, it was great that the Op's DD got justice in the end. Gives us all hope!
