Something about weddings perhaps. Or mad neighbours.

Or leaving a preemie while you go waterskiing.

Share your memorable AIBU topics if you feel like it.

Trying to be fair to them, I think it is quite easy to pick up on one post of a person and read all sorts into it.

BrigadeOfLannisters · 09/08/2011 15:46

I really liked the "I AM CANADIAN" thread originally about stairgates of all things.

laughs uncontrolablely at coat thread. I thought it was going to turn into a "I took it to the tip coz it had fleas" thread

alowVeraWithPurpleTwuntyPants · 09/08/2011 15:52

I AM CANADIAN

Thumbwitch · 09/08/2011 15:58

this is the Everyone Must Wear Pink thread.

reelingintheyears · 09/08/2011 16:03

The last one just went puff.

Fillybuster · 09/08/2011 16:07

ooh, I do love a proper AIBU thread....there's been a bit of shortage of late, hasn't there?

GinSlinger · 09/08/2011 16:52

there was a spoof one that involved pomanders and was hilarious especially because some didn't get it. It's always great when several don't get it and keep coming on to fight their corner

LadyBeagleEyes · 09/08/2011 17:22

There's been two quite promising ones in the last couple of days that got deleted.
One was the speech therapist spying on the OP, and the other was the thread about a thread with the op, the security light and riots.
Couldn't quite see why either got pulled as they were both rather funny and involved a bit of piss taking rather than any nasty name calling.

fgaaagh · 09/08/2011 17:25

This one was quite controversial but isn't a recent one?

And I quote one of the best bits by 123honey here:

"DH earned £180k last year, I earned £20k (part time). House is worth £1.2m, just paid mortgage off."

"So on the face of it, we should be loaded, however, the tax man takes £80k per annum, the mortgage payments until recently were £60k per annum, so we were then on probably the same as Mr and Mrs Jo Bloggs who have normal 9 to 5 jobs but get topped up with tax credits etc."

Still makes me laugh half a year after it was posted!

fgaaagh · 09/08/2011 17:28

... oh and that was sort of in response to compliment BrigadeOfLannisters and her mention of the infamous "I can't live on 100K because I need to buy flowers and tithe" post!

petisa · 09/08/2011 23:39

Oh dear people I have got nothing done tonight thanks to you linking these threads. Was hooked on the unenthusiastic sil salmotrutta!

WilsonFrickett · 10/08/2011 00:17

But I still NEED to KNOW what happened in the Page Boy with green hair thread. That is all.

izzywhizzyletsgetbusy · 10/08/2011 01:05

Come back beesimo all will never be forgiven. Can't remember the title but bee's final (for there were others) exit was an epic thread which must have taken the mumsnet's geek hours to delete.

Surely there's somone who can recall the joys of tupping, nettling, early marriage, and similar homespun delights that the late unlamented bee propounded as a cure-all for the modern day ills that beset non-Romanys?

PinkSchmoo · 10/08/2011 05:14

Ta for these. DS finally back to sleep and I'm actually considering sitting up to read the freaky pink wedding thread.

Tortoiseonthehalfshell · 10/08/2011 05:45

Yes, thank you. There's only so many riots/stone them all threads I can read, and I exceeded the limit a couple of days ago.

I remember the astrakhan coat vividly. Good times, good times.

Jacksmania · 10/08/2011 06:20

Oh, the country house one was fab - wasn't the OP's name something like cotswoldscountryyummymummy or some such shite thing?
That thread made me :o

I remember the coat one, but how did it turn out?

And I didn't realize beesimo is gone. Huh. No loss.

Tortoiseonthehalfshell · 10/08/2011 06:33

She told the friend that she wasn't giving back the coat, which wasn't the same coat anyway, and she could sit and swivel. After the friend had reacted to the 'it's not even the same coat' news by claiming that she had loaned it well after the supposed theft, in fact OP had asked for it originally at her DD's christening.

Or something like that. I've just re-read it, but it was so confusing I still don't think I understood.

Jacksmania · 10/08/2011 06:37

Wow - that's clear as mud :o
I don't think I ever got to the switched or stolen coat part... now I'm confused! Oh well :o

Tortoiseonthehalfshell · 10/08/2011 06:49

Well around post 500 she admitted that it wasn't the same coat. Her ex had stolen the coat when they'd broken up, she'd replaced it, this would have been about a year after she'd received said coat.

So she told the friend this. There appears to have been no answer specifically, but the friend then started saying it was nowhere near 15 years ago, the OP had asked for the coat at her DD's christening, which wasn't true because the OP's DH had seen her in it on their first date, which one presumes was after the departure of the nutty ex and therefore original coat, and ... yeah, I don't know, it pretty much ended there.

I am really curious what Beesimo's last thread was, now? Anyone? I was offline for a few days, clearly.

CheerfulYank · 10/08/2011 07:20

"I AM CANADIAN!" :o PMSL. I love Canada!

And I actually really miss Beesimo Blush even though I don't know if she was a real person or not.

CheerfulYank · 10/08/2011 07:21

I think it got deleted, Tortoise . It was all very strange, and then her "daughter" got involved (and PM'd me, actually Hmm )...and then something about calling nurseries "day orphanages" ...

Whatmeworry · 10/08/2011 07:33

I liked :

  • the ones winding up MN feminists when I joined - one went to about 1000 posts in about 2 days and went poof then another one did exactly the same. Talk about a bunfight!
  • recent one about the sort of predictable threads you get

Both had me spewing coffee all over keyboard and persuaded me that the bulk of MNers are totally sane and the MN harpies are both few and acknowledged to be batshit crazy U so they don't scare me anymore

MinnieBar · 10/08/2011 07:40

CotswoldCountryMummy was a troll, complete with sock puppet, who was just testing her sub-Jilly prose on MN. Which, considering how many Jilly-lovers there are, is Not A Good Idea.

Green hair nephew - I think the Bride zilla got her DH to have a word with his bro and the parents were actually very reasonable about it and said 'sure, we'll just leave it til after the wedding' and it was all fine. I think.

Tortoiseonthehalfshell · 10/08/2011 07:59

It def. got deleted, Cheerful, but what was it about?

PMSL at "day orphanages".
