I'm thinking of using Sun-In on my four year old's hair

The roots currently bear no relation to the ends and I'm thinking of spraying a bit of sun in into it

Am I being unreasonable?

You could damage her hair. Why would you want to dye a 4 year olds hair?

I wouldn't use it because it might frazzle the hair.

My DD2 (just gone 3) has a full on full on mullet, sadly there's nothing I can put on it to make the sides grow .

If you really must colour your 4 yos hair, then do it properly.Don't use sun in! It looks brassy and horrid

If the roots bear no relation to the ends than that is because she is growing out the blond baby hair and developing darker hair. So unless you want to use sun-in or hair dye forever, just let nature take its course and embrace a darker haired dd.

Use lemon juice instead if you must do it.

Use peroxide. She's only 4, it won't matter, she'll look delightful.

I assume you want to even out the tone, but it's normal for hair to lighten with age/sun exposure.

Sun-in is chemical bleach, I would not put it on a child, especially one too young to understand what might happen is it got rubbed in the eyes.

If you want to even it out a little in a safer, more natural way, put some fresh lemon juice on it for a few mins at bath time, weekly if you want. For a stronger effect, lemon juice rubbed into hair then exposed to the sun for 20 mins....

But really, at that age, why bother?

DS wanted to try it when he was about 14 and it turned his hair distinctly gingery.
