Oh shit :(

Has she spoken to CAB? Or a cancer charity? They may have someone who can act as a spokesperson for her, take the strain off her a little?

Empusa · 05/08/2011 00:53

If she's up to it, get her to write to her MP. If they get involved, things normally happen pretty quickly.

Empusa, i know she's trying Macmillan and CAB, but great idea re MP. She had chemo today so won't be in a position to call. I'll call on her behalf. Thank you for your excellent suggestion.

Hadn't heard of Zaccheus before, thank you! So glad I started this thread, it's been well worth losing a bit of sleep to find this stuff out.

GypsyMoth · 05/08/2011 01:04

Why have they cut it?

SpeedyGonzalez · 05/08/2011 01:06

Wow, that sounds brilliant, nanna!

Just found MP - a senior Tory! Well, maybe the message will get back to Cameron about how the most vulnerable members of society are being targeted by his programme of cuts.

Tiff - I think it's just their new assessment for the coming year. And yes, they know she is off sick with cancer.

GypsyMoth · 05/08/2011 01:10

So unfair, hope she gets help with it soon

SpeedyGonzalez · 05/08/2011 01:13

Thank you. And I am In tears now but you've all been so supportive. She has more than enough on her plate, FFS.

as as been said she should write ther MP

Fiendishlie · 05/08/2011 22:58

I'm only asking, so don't flame me, but aren't tax credits determined by a set formula and are not at all discretionary? So if a person earns £x, they would only ever get £y in tax credits iyswim.
