building a damn that prevented small children from paddling in the estuary as you made it too deep one side and dry the other that you are a selfish twat that has no consideration for others?

Not only rough boys, who were rude to many Mums that intervened, but fully grown men organising the damn building.

Damn building is fine, it's a good activity, but then intimidating smaller children and mothers who wanted to remove the damns is shit. One builder, before lunch, did so and then would release the water swiftly with great excitement.

One father started shouting at me for removing one small damn that had been built and left for over ten minutes.

Then the rough boys came along and shouted at small children everytime they went near it.

Ruined lots of peoples' day, about four families left the beach altogether. Sad.

I was at Charmouth two weeks ago. Isn't there a sign saying not to swim in the estuary part? I'm pretty sure there was.

Thingumy · 03/08/2011 22:16

Hey, I'm from the Charmouth area. The OP is not wrong about the rough kids...I used to be one of them! Sitting down there of a summers evening round a bonfire, chucking mahoosive rocks into the estuary and swigging out of bottles of White Lightning.

Yes really.

Have grown up now though.

This thread should be quite straightforward but it's lost me completely. I can't picture what was worth arguing about Grin

pictish · 03/08/2011 22:28

YABU! Dams are great and my rough, ill brought up children AND husband love building them!

You are a bossy boots Posie.

Incidentally are you the same poster who approached a group of random nursery staff in Argos and 'suggested' how they might better ineract with the children?
Or are you the poster that called Social Services after seeing two kids walking to school together, but without an adult?

I know one of those posts was you....possibly both.

You ARE a meddlesome opinonated pain in the backside aren't you?
