Is it all a race to the finish?

I worked for around twenty years to get where I am. Few people could say the same. I read mumsnet and see people complaining, yet I never have a complain.

I seem to have a pretty normal life. From the time I wake up, to the time I take my afternoon nap, I'm focussed on my task.

If it's a race to the finish, and the winner gets what, then why are you still here?

Come again?

AgentZigzag · 02/08/2011 15:19

I try not to race anywhere, I hate getting hot and sweaty.

nomdeploom · 02/08/2011 15:21

Are you complaining that other people dont try hard enough for a successful career and so shouldnt complain that they dont have one?

Are you a bit pissed?

AMumInScotland · 02/08/2011 15:22

You were lucky. We lived for three months in a paper bag in a septic tank. Young people today eh?

Sausagesarenottheonlyfruit · 02/08/2011 15:22

Well aren't you an insufferable smuggins.

AnyFucker · 02/08/2011 15:23

ShirleyKnot · 02/08/2011 15:23

I saw a little pony earlier, I didn't really, I wonder why I said that. I did see a dog with one of those collars on those - not collars, what are those things called like a lampshade? They're to stop the dog looking cool eating itself

mother?

AnyFucker · 02/08/2011 15:24

NevermindtheNargles · 02/08/2011 15:24

I probably wouldn't complain either if I got an afternoon nap.

Have a complain.
It'll make you feel better.

biddysmama · 02/08/2011 15:24

ShirleyKnot · 02/08/2011 15:25

I do love you to Anyfucker - OR DO I?

I didn't get where I was today by loving people.

(Is the OP actually CJ from The Rise and Fall of Reginald Perrin?)

Pandemoniaa · 02/08/2011 15:26

You may never "have a complain" but you've not beaten the grammar police yet, have you?

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 02/08/2011 15:26

I was reading the Blogess's blog earlier, and she has a cat wearing one of those collar things. She likened him to a martini glass. I love her. I have a temperature yet am packing for our holiday. More sudafed anyone?

joric · 02/08/2011 15:27

Wish I could have an afternoon nap...are you talking about bringing up children or paid work? If it's the latter, I've been teaching FT for 16 years... So in 4 years time I will have done my bit? Not likely, the government says I have 20 years to go!!!!! At least!!!! Pah!

NevermindtheNargles · 02/08/2011 15:27

Was there a seagull?
