Naggy and bossy at the same time. And so tribal.

Sooo...

What ELNP wrote then?

giyadas · 22/07/2011 17:06

Pakdooik - this has been explained time and time again - 6% of all reported rapes end in conviction.

giyadas · 22/07/2011 17:07

yep - what ELNP wrote

Pakdooik · 22/07/2011 17:07

From the same source

"However, it is clear to us that the way the six per cent conviction rate figure has been able to dominate the public discourse on rape, without explanation, analysis and context, has been to the detriment of public understanding and other important outcomes for victims."

DCMP, we have representative Democracy here in the UK - we vote in politicians who make decisions on our behalf - but that sucks because it's not true democracy - I want direct democracy - that's power to the people.

filthyfunkproject · 22/07/2011 17:09

Half the country didn't vote for DC - but he will make decisions on their behalf - it's crap.

DontCallMePeanut · 22/07/2011 17:12

Slight hint of anarchy, even? Grin

And yep, that's the one I was looking for. Sorry, minds gone blank (blanker than usual) today. We get no say on some of the most important issues. And it blardy well stinks, if you ask me.

Oh. And I'd do away with the house of lords. They diminish the argument that we have representative democracy even further when, in some respects, they're the most powerful people in the country (re: the lower house can pass a motion of no copnfidence, forcing the PM to resign, they get a hefty say on new laws and legislation) and they're not even elected...

DontCallMePeanut · 22/07/2011 17:14

funnily enough, I think I managed a 2 page rant about DC being PM in that exam... Oooh, it still makes me angry...

giyadas · 22/07/2011 17:23

Just 2? Grin
This thread's starting to make me feel all rebellious. I want to run out into the street and commit an act of anarchic feminist rebellion, but I can't think of one. Sad

chubsasaurus · 22/07/2011 17:28

I love David Cameron. Such a great man.

chubsasaurus · 22/07/2011 17:29

But still let's smash the state

DontCallMePeanut · 22/07/2011 17:29

I'm a slow writer, ok? Grin I would have carried on, but the invigilator was telling us to put our pens down... Had I known I was dyslexic at the time, and had use of a computer, I'd have probably managed a good 5/6 pages

Grin

his head shaped like R2D2 (the short robot from star wars) but made out of meat en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R2-D2.

DontCallMePeanut · 22/07/2011 17:31

Chubsaurus, is that irony?

I'm sure he's not all bad... I'm just struggling to find his good points...

And yes! Down with the government!

wonders if the Daily Fail is watching this with horror

giyadas · 22/07/2011 17:57

The neighbours kids have just beat me to the whole running into the street and causing anarchy thing.
Will hide indoors until they've gone

SoCalledFeminist · 22/07/2011 21:15

"what are you going to teach your sons" that is the more relevant question isn't it? Sad

i'm glad i have a son. i think in many ways there is more to be achieved through our boy children - it's male attitudes and behaviours that need the most change.

thisfantasticvoyage · 22/07/2011 22:31

So, in summing up girls as I think this thread has kinda come to a natural conclusion, HH is a wanker yeh?

DontCallMePeanut · 22/07/2011 23:19

Nope, the natural conclusion? Itt's refreshing to have someone who will stir reactions and emotions, and even if we can't agree on her, at least she's championing the cause for women.

SoCalledFeminist · 22/07/2011 23:29

conclusion - rather brave lady to buck the trend of people pleasing and image focus and actually do some politics instead.
