I can't understand why people wish their husbands/wives/Sons/Daughter's happy birthday/anniversary on Facebook ... can't they just tell them to their face like normal people. I have a friend who did this and her husband isn't even on Facebook .... and I couldn't give a rats arse how my 'friends' children are doing at school or if they got a good end of year report or how many goals their darling son scored at his football match .... and those with busy social lives ..... well i'm just jealous Envy!!

Oooh, I would piss some of you lot right off with my facebook-ing! Not only do I have a personal account, I also have an account to show off my creative wares for selling, and a page to do the same! I regularly post links to events I am having a stall at, eBay auctions etc...

My viewpoint is, everyone has that little x button by the status updates, they are free to use it, and they will if they want to.

I like wanky fb too. Ppppffffttttt.
Although I do think some statices are more wanky than others. But i think it's a matter of if they wind you up delete or hide them, or if you really don't like it then don't go on there.

How can wishing someone happy birthday be smug?? Confused

If you don't bloody like it don't use it!

I love FB! My FB friends post absolute trivia on it and it's a laugh, they are people from every stage of my life but not from where I live and work now. I get to see photos from friends who live all over the world and we get to keep in touch. The ones who showcase their lives in an annoying smug way are v few ( in fact I can think of only one)
I can't see the point of being FB friends with people you see every day or work with TBH.

Re the meanness on my dd's page, a couple of friends came to her defence but the boy hasn't made an appearance. I'm 100% sure if he did, he would say he was only joking. However, I still felt it was mean (too many people say nasty things and then, as an excuse, say "I'm only joking" and I don't like it) and as such wanted to comment. It was all in French so I could be missing something but I don't think so (except his French was really appalling - found it hard to believe he'd actually been to school in the past few years!).

I like Facebook. I don't like the really soppy updates but don't mind the boasting ones (wouldn't mind some of those myself!). I find it a great way to keep in contact with my relatives in England.
