my hairs a bit shorter and blonde with just a hint of red rather than proper red.. but same curls and same kind of volume (though i don't wear it quite so big)

love the way people say that those of us with curly thick hair should blowdry and straighten in order to look 'more groomed' - you've obviously no idea how long this takes, it takes a hairdresser nearly an hour to do get mine dry, straight and shiny, no idea how long it would take me..

I love her hair and I don't think it's too 'young' for her, she reminded me of Grace Coddington who wears her hair like that and she's in her 60's IIRC. I've just grown mine long again after a decade of sensible shorter hair (which at 30 I felt befitted my age). Now I'm over 40 I don't give a shit and have gone back to the long hair.

My hair takes 90 minutes to straighten at the hairdressers, if I do it myself after a few hours is starts to evolve into some kind of weird 'Rachel do'/Hiliary Clinton circa 1992 combo.

If anyone said this to me, I'd tell them where to go. My hair looks fucking amazing, why the hell would I wan't to straighten it? To look like everyone else? Don't think so.

There's nothing to understand about a hairstyle like that. It's the only way to wear hair of that texture without having to get up at the crack of silly o'clock and tame it daily. If you've got it, there's only one way to go with it and that is to leave it alone. It can be a bit shorter than she wears it, or cut to about an inch long all over and kept that way by trimming every two weeks -- anything in between and you end up looking like Luke Kelly/Leo Sayers/John McEnroe if there's even a whiff of humidity.

I have hair like that and it's a choice between shorn or long .
And if long - you can't just stick Frizz Ease on it and forget .
All that happens is you get massive build up ,which you have to get rid of ,hair gets drier and drier and frizzier and frizzier .

I want details of her hair regime and products and I want them now .
( personally I think it's a little long ,but you have to understand that if you have curly ,frizzy ,dry,coarse hair - which red often is - you need the length to keep it weighted down and stop it becoming ginormous )

Mine doesn't. I wet it, comb it, put leave-in conditioner and hair serum and leave to dry. That's it, apart from a twice weekly wash. People are generally amazed because they automatically assume my hair is a burden and takes forever to do. It really doesn't.

I am a sort of pale ginger and IME the colour fades as you get older.

Ds1 is bright carrot ginger, I love it! It's always easy to spot him in a crowd and it's such a vibrant colour.

I actually quite like that she doesn't often seem to be wearing make-up when she is photographed. Not every woman looks better for it. I wear some make-up when I flit about but I don't see why really any woman should feel she has to.

Another one here with curly hair - and mine's red too - in fact when I look at RB i think we have very similar hair. For people with straight hair its impossible to imagine how difficult curly hair is, to not look frizzy. I absolutely bloody love my hair but sometimes it looks frizzy - and I refuse to ruin it by straightening it all the time. (and i've tried the curly girl method - gave me smelly hair!)

I've had the same long curly style since i was 16 - because no other style works. Dreamt of manageable hair when i had 3 dc under 6 but short curly hair doesnt suit me.

So as much as I think RB is a horrible person, i understand why she has that hair. I'm 10 years younger but in 10 years my hair will look like that too!
