To own 30 pairs of shoes?

DH thinks I am. Some are old vintage and the list includes flipflops/trainers etc. So am I a shoe-holic or average? It would be useful to know for future arguments discussions with DH.

I have more than 30. I did a cull recently too. But I love them all and do actually wear them. Some I'll only wear rarely but am not giving them away.

Cripes, forgot about all my winter shoes and boots that are stored away.

Currently wearing about 9 pairs in rotation.

Dh makes this valid point: I always buy in the sales, but then get two pairs instead of one as they are such a bargian. it's a false economy says he. Hhmm, I suppose he's right.

I have so many I cant even count them.

Mind you most of them were bought years ago. I dont buy many now and its very sad.

MidnightHag- he doesn't get them re-soled anymore since he worked out that it wasn't cost effective to do so. I believe sums were done and everything.

I put 13 pairs of shoes on ebay last week.

Some still with stickers on, most only worn twice at most.

I realised that I wouldn't miss them when it dawned on me that I hadn't even remembered that I owned them until I cleared out the wardrobe in the spare room.

I have 2. Just 2.

I have started wearing proper shoes to work. For the last four years I have either been pg or had a new baby and in post pg fashion limbo.

So I have been getting my lovely lovely shoes out of the loft, from under the bed, off the shoe shelves dotted about the house and wearing them.

My bronze wedges looked outstanding on wednesday but due to storage the glue gave way and the straps fell off .

So heed my warning - wear your lovely shoes or they die a slow and lonely death.

God I have about 50+ and bought another pair today! Think i may put some on ebay!

I have 200 pairs, not including boots, running shoes and wellies.

I dont sell mine on ebay because I thought the postage might be too high and put people off. Is it worth it then?

I could sell some of mine as vintage. 16 year old girls would class them as vintage anyway

I went right off shoes because they all seemed to be those uber high hooker ones with silly platforms and too much embellisment.

I love mad shoes but they have to look classy too.

They seem to be getting better now.

I feel like popping out now and seeing what I can get in the sales.

Anyone else really really miss Ravel? I loved their shoes.

At least 30, more if you include the trainers I'm keeping in case I go to a gym (it's been 4 years and counting),
& 5 pairs of riding boots (used to ride every day, now once a week, but they were expensive and I might have a daughter one day who wants them),
& the ones that rub (but might be comfortable in the future if my feet change shape ),
& wedding shoes (sentimental value, siver sandals, might wear again),
& spare wedding shoes (in case other pair hurt, never worn),
& gorgeous brown boots but heels not quite comfy enough,
& another pair of brown boots (love them but cat pissed on them 6 years ago and am waiting for smell to go, so keeping them in garage)
& flip flops (uncomfortable but present and useful if I have extended stay in hospital and have to use manky showers),
& Old Birkenstocks (really manky, embarassed to wear in public) Might chuck those now thinking about it
& adventure sandals (i might have an adventure one day).

Just thinking I might pop out and replace the manky Birkenstocks.......

I have 7 pairs.

I've at least a 100 pairs.

And I threw out 40 pairs last year and last month I took 14 pairs to one charity shop as I'd kept them to sell on ebay but I was too lazy.

YANBU - I have 6 pairs sitting by the front door, 2 by the back door and at least 50 upstairs

Shit... I have over 150 pairs! And you think 30 is a lot?!

I cant be arsed to go and count. I have more than 30 but less than 100!

I think shoes are not as good in mainstream shops now though, quality not as good and too many that are far too high

I have about 30, OP, and I consider myself completely uninterested in pretty shoes. Mine are wellies, winter boots, trainers, cycling shoes, walking sandals, only a handful of dressy (ish) pairs.

i love shoes about 4 wks ago i bought 18 new pairs to add to my collection all in one day (i was having a bad week) DH thinks i am mad but hey ho i dont smoke, drink (much) or do drugs so i deserve a treat

ragged, 6 pairs of lips flops... I have red ones, black ones, yellow ones, blue ones, purple ones (current faves) multi-coloured ones with sparkly bits on (that never get worn but might do one day!),pink ones, brown ones and I could probably go on.

I kind of like that shoes on the high street (New Look etc) are almost disposable. I can buy a pair of shoes for £20, wear them until one of the heel tips falls off, then buy a new pair for £20 instead of shelling out £10 to get them re-heeled.

Well you dont need them all in the same colour... but you have to accessorise properly ...

Ugg ones (sheepskin brown)
Plain black ones
Pink
Silver
A jewelled pair that perfectly match my best "posh" frock and are a great back up in my bag in case my feet hurt in my high heels..
A bronze pair
An oakleys pair for the beach
White

think thats it, but havent looked in the cupboard under the stair for a while, or checked suitcases (there are usually stray pairs hiding in those)..
