I have a friend who posts articles, blogs and general links around twice a day about breastfeeding on facebook. It ranges from people's blogs claiming x number of babies have died in the developed from being formula fed this year to general facts and statistics.

The reason I am starting to get annoyed is because I didnt BF and neither did several other people she is friends with on facebook who have young children. I feel like it is quite insidious and insensitive. She is a good friend and I would prefer not to feel so irritated with her. Am I overreacting?

NB. I am not looking to be convinced of the superiority of bf (Anyway, thanks to my friend you could tell me anything I havnt read already!)

I am a first time aibu poster so here we go... ...

'Hey honey, I think you wasted your time a bit' - I don't think feeding your baby could be construed as a waste of time whichever way you stack it, and breastfeeding is less time consuming than formula feeding Confused.

Good of you not to think that bf women should be discriminated though :)

I also agree that women should be given a balanced view when pregnant, and that balanced view is that breastfeeding is better for your baby than formula feeding. It just is. Formula feeding is not bad, but breastfeeding is even better.

Sorry OP, I think this is all about your defensiveness and regret at formula feeding. I am sorry for that, but attacking your friend for supporting a reasonable cause doesn't make sense.

I should say I dont think she wasted her time, just that it would sound(equally as) patronising if I was to give any counter argument.

Why do you assume that I feel regret? I am defensive though - the bloody posts make me defensive!

Tbh I think she is just being a smug gobshite so I've blocked her in order to stop getting infuriated (and becoming a gobshite myself on hereGrin)

I have a friend that only posts what she's bought - she's a smug gobshite too! However she's related to me so would cause arguments for me to delete so I just bite my Tongue :)
