To put a NO COLD CALLERS sign at my front door?

Every day we're getting 3-4 people cold calling at the door wanting money for their charity, wanting to sell us something or trying to find out info to change our suppliers for phonelines/tv/utilities etc. I used to have a great sign from my MP saying that we didn't answer the door to cold callers but it fell off and dh lost it. WIBU to put up another sign as I always feel these pushy people don't like being told "No thank you!"

You can put this one up (from MSE) it quotes the relevant regulations at them

Although some companies (Avon) tell their people to ignore such signs

We get loads of JW people around here.
My husband is convinced it's because we live in a nice area and the residents are highly unlikely to swear at them!!

A few days ago I had a young chap knock flogging cleaning cloths and when I said 'no thank you' he told me it would be ALL MY FAULT if he ended up in prison again because I hadn't bought one of his dishcloths!!!

Tell them you don't pay bills it's all in with your rent. They soon bugger off.
Apart from one salesman who though I was bonkers not to want to pay for new Windows in my council house

I second the MSE signs, you can just print them off from the website. We just tend to get people coming up to the door, reading the sign then trotting off again, if they haven't already spotted it from the road. The sound of the gate still gets the dog barking, but at least I don't have to get cold opening the door & pointing at the sign while telling them "Sorry, not interested"
