Forgive me I'm usually at work when this trash is on tv but why would the good ladies of mumsnet put Carol 'Craggyface' McGiffin's head on a stick? :)

I'm certain I could have if I hadn't been interrupted by tea.

well, yes, i don't think any of the 'loose women' panel are thick, just (similar to Jeremy Clarkson) they seem to pitch their show at the lovers of lazy-thinking received opinon.

few have gone bust doing so....

surely if Dawn French was n it, the show would improve?

I think you're comparing apples and oranges.

I didn't see LW criticise MN but seeing as I am now on page 4 of a thread on MN criticising LW I am really not surprised that they aren't keen on this site.

In the same way that 'we' are making massive generalisations about LW panelists they will make massive generalisations about MN.

It is a bit like The Sun criticising Radio 4 and vice versa...

I don't much care for the old women references on here regarding the presenters

I never watch it,I don't tend to watch programmes I don't like though

noddyholder · 12/07/2011 20:16

I am old but they are OLD

usualsuspect · 12/07/2011 20:19

Been watching this thread as I love Mumsnet and used to love Loose Women. I can't comment on last two years as not had time to watch it but agree with a poster earlier it kept me sane during long days of BFing my ever hungry DS1 and an inability to get out and about much. As a (so called) professional and degree educated woman, I don't consider myself stupid but then who would? I think a lot of the innuendo and 'male bashing' is tongue in cheek or thats how I interpreted it. I always found them very supportive of women of all types which is always good news. Re Carol and her opinions on children that some have quoted, I never saw it so am going on other posts she would sound a lot like me before I had children. I would think 'why do you need a buggy, let em walk' and if one was having a tantrum 'why can't they control their child etc'. When pregnant with DS1 I expected two hours a day to myself when baby was sleeping when I would get all my housework done and lots of 'me time'. Yeah right. I laugh at myself now. Forgive me if I am missing the point as I honestly havent seen it hardly at all in the last few years but I felt like I wanted to defend an old friend!
