I have just served bannanas and hot custard to the family as pudding. DH says I am weird and it should be served cold.

Members of the jury, am I being unreasonable?

Cold bananas, cold ambrosia custard Smile yummmmmm my favourite pudding!

Bananas and custard is the most disgusting pudding ever served, whichever way you try to dress it up. I used to want to cry when I saw it was banana and custard day for school dinner.

sausagesandmarmelade · 09/07/2011 07:55

Hot...definitely hot!

Cold custard is best for trifles....unless you are using that tinned stuff!

GwendolineMaryLacey · 09/07/2011 07:58

Hot custard, cold bananas and trifle sponges. You cabr have bananas and custard without sponges. It's illegal I think.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 09/07/2011 07:59

Can't have...

diddl · 09/07/2011 08:25

It´s called banana custard & is served cold.

Bananas and custard-well, have the custard how you want!

follyfoot · 09/07/2011 08:32

Cold. Both of them.

Ooo youve taken me back to an early childhood memory OP. Running to my grandma's fridge to get out the delicate bone china jug that was always waiting for me when I went to stay - full of lovely custard ready for banana custard.

She would do another favourite pudding - a pineapple ring with a banana stood up in it, a bit of angelica in the top of the banana and custard poured over. All to make it look like a candle with wax dripping down Smile

CurrySpice · 09/07/2011 08:35

Cold custard of course. It would never cross my mind to put hot custard with bananas [hshock]

Otherwise what the fuck is the point of it being a lazy arsed easy and quick pudding if you have to faff about heating stuff up eh? [hhmm]

LunaticIsOnTheGrass · 09/07/2011 08:40

COLD - definitely cold.

CurrySpice · 09/07/2011 08:43

Follyfoot - when you described that pudding, I didn't think "oo that sounds like a candle with wax dripping down". I thought of something far ruder different Blush

Hot custard is the work of the devil!

Neither my husband nor myself like warm or hot custard, and if out will only have pudding if the custard can be supplied cold (and sometimes it can't).

We have passed on this quirk to our children who now dont like hot custard either.
