I have just served bannanas and hot custard to the family as pudding. DH says I am weird and it should be served cold.

Members of the jury, am I being unreasonable?

Ps What's with the Wizard Smileys? I like them just ondered what we had done to deserve them [hgrin]

Tchootnika · 08/07/2011 19:41

Bananas & hot custartd - fabulous!
Better still with vanilla icecream and grated chocolate (preferably Galaxy).
Mmmm! (and thanks for reminder of this glorious combo Smile)

Tchootnika · 08/07/2011 19:42

Wizards?
Harry Potter, ennit (surely)? [hwink]

BlueCat2010 · 08/07/2011 19:46

I thought we had him on the recipe with the buttons, but no, he's still saying it's got to be cold. I even suggested he left his to go cold and he said it would get skin on it.....I'm sure he's just doing this to wind me up![hsmile]

Spuddybean · 08/07/2011 19:47

oh god, just the thought of the custard cold has actually made me heave.

cold custard should only be in trifle.

TheHouseofMirth · 08/07/2011 19:48

Cold bananas and hot custard. Obviously.

Numberfour · 08/07/2011 19:49

Another vote for cold bananas and hot custard.

Tchootnika · 08/07/2011 19:50

spuddybean beat me to it!
Was going to say, each to their own and all, but very thought of jellyish wobbling cold custard is making my inner arms shudder.

TheOriginalFAB · 08/07/2011 19:50

bruffin - prove it Grin.

mumtoted · 08/07/2011 19:50

Hot custard definitely.

ElizabethPonsonby · 08/07/2011 19:52

Cold bananas, hot custard and a dollop of vanilla ice cream [hsmile]

CroissantNeuf · 08/07/2011 19:55

The trouble is with hot custard is that it ever so slightly cooks the bananas and cooked bananas are just slimy and taste odd.

CrapolaDeVille · 08/07/2011 19:56

oooooo, yummy. Hot for me!!

AutumnWitch · 08/07/2011 19:58

Hot always - bananananananas - I never quite know when to stop spelling them [hgrin]

UmBongo · 08/07/2011 19:59

Cold bananas, warmed by some freshly made Birds Custard. Hot of course!

Anyone remember the Spike Milligan advert "If it's not Birds, you're a custard short of a pudding!"?

Quenelle · 08/07/2011 20:10

Hot custard or cold sterilised cream (can you still get that?)

prolificwillybreeder · 08/07/2011 20:19

Yum! Hot custard for me though :)

Tchootnika · 08/07/2011 20:24

... could always crank up the sugar rush a few notches with a dash of condensed milk (and add to nice pretty surface patterns/grated chocolate/Jackson Pollock pudding effect...)
Extra texture? (ooh, I'm rhyming, now!): chuck some brownies into the mix?
(I really like the way this is going, btw.)

muddyangels123 · 08/07/2011 20:26

Yum !! My Fav. wiztastic pud. [hgrin]

My custard is made with soya milk , due to DD.

fivegomadindorset · 08/07/2011 20:27

Dh says cold banana/cold custard or hot banana and hot custard don't mix.
I say work of the devil

Tchootnika · 08/07/2011 20:28

... and maybe a few blueberries, if you've got them to hand...

mrstimlovejoy · 08/07/2011 20:28
