To go to the toilet manually?

I have a constipation problem so I tend to stick my fingers up my bum and manually pull poo out sometimes. Obviously I give my hands a good wash afterwards with anti-bacterial gel. I let this slip to DP last night and he said I was disgusting and wierd and he couldn't stop going on about it. I didn't think it was a big deal and no different to pulling bogies out of your nose.

Is this for REAL?!

If it is, go and see a GP tomorrow. Get an emergency appointment. Something. Anything.

You might have faecal compaction so the poos are so solid and wide that your muscles are not working properly.

WTF are you eating by the way?

CogitoErgoSometimes · 03/07/2011 20:07

Seriously... If your constipation is so bad that this is a regular occurence then you need treatment (and you need to take it) or you could end up with some serious problems, up to and including colon cancer.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 03/07/2011 20:07

okay

you need a glycerine suppository to soften the poo from below, you can get at OTC a pharmacy, this will make the blockage easier to pass this time

you must get to a GP quickly to find out what is causing the problem

ZXEightyMum · 03/07/2011 20:08

Why not put your thumb into your vagina and press down? I've noticed when using my mooncup that you can feel the er, "matter". Much less unpleasant. As long as your nails are short.

Or have some vigorous sex. That works in a similar way Grin

FabbyChic · 03/07/2011 20:09

Sorry but I too think it is disgusting, and not something you share.

If you have problems see the doctor or take laxatives, or senacot

DoMeDon · 03/07/2011 20:09

It may not be usual but it's not abnormal. My friend has this problem all the time due to IBS. As long as you have addressed your diet and seen GP, what else can you do!? Leave it hanging there Hmm

bubblesincoffee · 03/07/2011 20:10

Please say this is a wind up!

I didn't even know this would be humanly possible! HOW would it occur to you to stick your fingers up there instead of getting yourself to the docs and get a laxative?!

This site never fails to amaze me.

bibbitybobbityhat · 03/07/2011 20:10

Where is the wee and poo topic?

ApocalypseCheeseToastie · 03/07/2011 20:11

This is a joke. Surely.

Nobody does this.

TeaOneSugar · 03/07/2011 20:14

Clearly many of you have never had chronic constipation.

cjbartlett · 03/07/2011 20:15

Definitely a wind up
If it's really true change your diet, you either eat nothing at all or you live on greggs and maccy d's

ZXEightyMum · 03/07/2011 20:15
cjbartlett · 03/07/2011 20:16

If you've got chronic constipation you go to the doctor and take meds
You don't stick your finger up your arse

TeaOneSugar · 03/07/2011 20:17

You can't go to the doctor mid poo, but yes, you should probably go as soon as possible afterwards.

I can just imagine some bloke, sat caked in his own shit, cock in non typing hand ready to get his rocks off to the frantic typings of bunged up women up and down the country eagerly sharing their poo extraction techniques Wink

Believe me, i'm never wrong

Riveninside · 03/07/2011 20:18

So pleased i am not eating

RitaMorgan · 03/07/2011 20:21

Fabby you don't manually do it to babies! That's a terrible idea, you could do a lot of damage Shock

ggirl · 03/07/2011 20:21

You are risking tearing your anus or rectum
You either need regular stool softener medication , drink more fluids, eat more roughage and/or take aperients.
Go to you Dr. It is not normal to have to do this.

I have know patients do this . But once we know they are they get treatment to prevent the need.

ktmoomoo · 03/07/2011 20:31

this is y i left mn lol it was a lot of crap some days lol

Iggly · 03/07/2011 20:33

Fabby Hmm

I've never heard that ever. What a ridiculous idea.

BettyDrapersWardrobeElf · 03/07/2011 20:34

I have also spoken to quite a few patients who do this, it's not as unusual as you'd think. One woman i remember used to keep a teaspoon in her bathroom for this purpose Shock However it is very dangerous, if you perforate your colon you could be in serious trouble. Please please go and talk to your GP, they will have heard it all before and can give you some proper advice. it is NOT normal to have to do this.

TeaOneSugar · 03/07/2011 20:35

It's certainly not normal to do this on a regular basis.
