I just can't be dealing with real life any more.

my brain can't take it.

i fuck up too many times.

So i've decided to retire to a nice quiet cave somewhere alonw, with Wine and gin and not engage with real life any more.

It's not the worst option.

Really.

DogsBestFriend · 30/06/2011 22:58

Only if I can join you.

spiderslegs · 30/06/2011 22:59

What are the fuck-ups (really don't care - probably been there)

BitOfFun · 30/06/2011 22:59

I thought that that's what mumsnet regulars did anyway? Or am I early to the trend?

LadyThumb · 30/06/2011 23:00

I'm in (we'll need a mansion, though, 'cos I suspect there's lots of us who want to join you)!

Flojo1979 · 30/06/2011 23:00

If u can afford it why not?

AnnieLobeseder · 30/06/2011 23:01

I don't fancy a cave, a bit dark and damp. I want to live in a cottage in the middle of a forest. Peace and quiet.....

YANBU, BTW.

BehindLockNumberNine · 30/06/2011 23:08

I often dream of abandoning 'real life' (as in work, colleagues, friends, dc's schools and society on the whole) and move to deepest darkets rural wales to go completely self-sufficient.

I would love the peace and quiet.

Have discovered I am no good around people. I get nervous, say stupid things which come back to bite me in the bum weeks or months later. Sad

Hermit is the way to go. Definately.

calypso2008 · 30/06/2011 23:12

I'm already living the dream.:)

BornCalamity · 30/06/2011 23:12

i am truly incompetent in so many aspects of normal life.

i can't do housework.

i can't cook

i don'e understand money.

i don't get politics

i have no interest in tennis.

i just don't care about stuff that riles other people.

i do like wine and books.

BornCalamity · 30/06/2011 23:12

ah. and I am Vroom in a new guise.

spiderslegs · 30/06/2011 23:17

I live in deepest darkest Wales with not so much as a mile of sheep betwixt me & the next human.

I got locked in a bedroom with the darling Spiders yesterday - Mr Spiders not back for 48 hours.

Not so fun.

We got out.

Eventually.

Omigawd · 30/06/2011 23:32

The Agnostic Nunnery.....

Portofino · 30/06/2011 23:35

I could do an agnostic nunnery I think - as long as there was wine.

Portofino · 30/06/2011 23:39

We need a MN retreat. Somewher with open space so if you felt so inclined you could run round sceaming a lot. But also with sunbeds a quiet area so that others could relax and enjoy a break from "mum, can I" sort of stuff.

Omigawd · 01/07/2011 00:05

An Agnostic Nunnery should make its own wine :-)

ChaosTrulyReigns · 01/07/2011 00:07

Room for a grumpster?

posterofagirl · 01/07/2011 00:15

I moved to rural Wales to be a hermit after my divorce and ended up remarried with a baby!
Nunnery seems a better ideaGrin

Gotabookaboutit · 01/07/2011 00:38

Live in darkest Wales and not coming out except for wine, books and occasional theater fix.

spiderslegs · 01/07/2011 00:57

Ohh - Gotabook - where are you?

kreecherlivesupstairs · 01/07/2011 06:14

It's not all sunshine and roses. I am soon to leave my hermitry for a life amongst other people Wink

Gotabookaboutit · 01/07/2011 09:22

Midwales - Spiderslegs,you?

fallenninja · 01/07/2011 09:32

Oh oh annie I live in the forest!! Nearest neighbour 1mile away, nearest shop 5 miles away. Still living the dream of powercuts and diesel generators if a tree falls on the electrcity cable. Sigh ... it may aswell be a cave ...

I also often dream of going to live more in the middle of nowhere. Fresh start somewhere else.

serajen · 01/07/2011 09:48

I'm in. Not interested in:

shopping
capitalism
celebrities
cars
possessions
'status'

Living in the wrong country/era, me thinks

AnnieLobeseder · 01/07/2011 10:03

ninja - you are indeed living the dream! Envy
