to think DH should have noticed my haircut by now?

Had a haircut this morning and my longish below shoulder hair has been cut into a bob.

DH has been home for 2 hours now - he should've commented on it by now, yeah? Even if he didn't like it he should have mentioned it! Or am I expecting miracles?

I am 39 wks pregnant and tbh I'm rather surprised I'm not more pissed off.

I painted our kitchen bright green today, my bloke hasn't noticed.

Think it's a 'man' thing!

DH says that this is a well-known technique. He is working on finding the correct phrasing.

His first remark is likely to be, "Are you happy with your new hair-style?"

my exh never noticed my hair after about a week once i said do you like my hair he said oh yeah sorry its lovely. my new dp always notices right away. he even notices new shoes.........................

Going to wait it out & see how long it takes. I honestly think he hasn't noticed! Maybe I'll dye it tomorrow and see if he notices that

And pregnancy has everything to do with it! I'm pumped full of hormones and hacked off with my rotund appearance. It would be nice to get a compliment.

Forget it - it is def a man thing, although I totally understand the need for a compliment in late pregnancy.

It's a man thing.....

I generally get asked now and again "Have you had your hair done?" Generally I haven't, and he never notices when I have. He says he asks occasionally on the off chance he might get it right.

I spend a week before any trip to the hairdressers mentioning that I'm going to the hairdressers. Then it has plenty of time to sink in and I am greeted with compliments when I find DH in whichever pub he skulked off to come home.
This is after the "waist length to pixie cut" debacle :)

I have never once noticed my gf's haircut. Apparently last time she went from mid-back to shoulder length.
Didn't have a fucking breeze tbf.

Friend of mine knitted her DH's christmas present (fair aisle sweater) in front of him - he didn't notice and was delighted when he opened it on christmas morning. And my mum, when she was a young wife, making up a fire, put soot on her face just to see how long it took my dad to notice. He did: "What's the matter with you?!" and was not impressed. My poor mum.

I hope he makes up for it in other ways OP

I came home with pink streaks in the front of my newly cut hair a couple of years back. Very nice it looked too. Three days later, dsd came round and immediately complimented me on the hair and invited her father to comment similarly. DP looked like a rat caught down a drain and had to admit that he'd noticed precisely fuck all for the previous three days. So actually, while I hate dividing the world into gender stereotypes, some men really don't seem to notice the obvious even when it is under their bleedin' noses.

Glad it's not just mine who doesn't notice what's in front of his nose. Love the jumper knitting story!

He is great in many other ways (just brought me a cup if tea in bed) so I'll accept it's a man thing. He similarly doesn't notice new clothes/shoes/handbags so perhaps I shouldn't complain

If he doesn't notice new bags and shoes you are on to a winner so I wouldn't complain about the haircut and risk him raising his "noticing things antennae" more often

Definately a man thing so I wouldn't get stressed about it - make yourself feel better and go and buy a new bag instead!!!

I do the same as JenniL.

Mind you, I only ever get the same two compliments- 'You/It looks lovely' or 'You like nice'. Which is ok in itself, but occasionally I ask how I look when I look like a rough old dog less than beeyootiful and still get the same compliment.

Which leads me to one of two conclusions: 1) that he never notices what I wear/look like because in his mind I am the most beautiful creature on the planet, in which case awwwww , how sweet or 2) that he never notices because-well, just because he never notices, in which case .

I know which one I prefer to believe.
