if they do it again to anyone then they will be arrested no matter if the person wants to press charges or not.

I only came on here to say 'to HAVE' 'to HAVE'

But if the story is a load of old tosh I will just leave it.

GetOrf · 27/06/2011 15:17

Poor old OP thinks it's Dixon of Dock Green

'nah then young man ahm warning you, that's it, an official warning, don't go round clouting young pregnant whippersnappers again or you'll feel the long arm of the LAW'

Chinny reckon.

I reckon chinny reckon is due a COMEBACK

DialsMavis · 27/06/2011 15:24

I also only came on to snidely snipe at your title but I tend to agree with the others. We always "itched our beards" in my neck of the woods but DP is a "chinny reckon"er, I much prefer it now.

Just to say that there is now another form of dealing with these issues called restorative justice. This is recorded on the crime report which will have been recorded. It takes the victims wishes into consideration and basically all she wanted doing was them warning which is what happened. The offender would have had to admitted to the offence but saves on a huge amount of paperwork. It is currently being piloted in a number of forces and will be passed through house of lords soon to be recognised as a detection.
Hope all goes Ok with your scan

Erm yes it is and don't pull faces at me altinkum.

It can be used in a wide variety of crimes as it is dependent on the wishes of the victim. Even hate crime can be resolved by restorative justice. It would usually involve some form of apology either written, face to face with the victim or using police as a go between. Basically to get away from tying courts up and police officers when a strong warning is what is required.

Getorf....shhh I was undercover. Thought no one recognised me Wink

CrapolaDeVille · 27/06/2011 15:57

Sharon....you obviously know American law, but this is England. You and Lacey have no jurisdiction here.

Troll hunting is banned on mumsnet for good reason.

Please don't start with this picking apart of an OPs story. It's disgusting behaviour IMO.

Yes, she could be making it up (as could anyone, on any thread).

But she could well be telling the truth (and I see no reason to disbelieve her), and if she is then some of you are heaping scrorn on a pregnant woman who's been attacked. Nice one Hmm

tazmin · 27/06/2011 16:42

whats scrorn?

sounds like a northern dish

ILoveYouToo · 27/06/2011 16:43

Grin tazmin

SharonGless · 27/06/2011 16:45

zukiecat don't worry Crapola was taking the piss.

threefeet - totally agree with you and probably best to leave this thread now

smartyparts · 27/06/2011 16:46

YABU to 'of' done anything. It's have.

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 27/06/2011 16:50

I had trouble with my neighbours, I had no proof, the police asked if I wanted to press charges or just have them go round & give them a warning. It does happen, I think some people are being very vile here!
