AIBU to expect to not have to do the housework when DP has been off for 2 days

DP has taken 2 days off (unpaid I might add) and has basically been lazing around the house. He claims to have 'not sat down' but wtf he has been doing is beyond me! My sister and her partner are staying saturday night and I have just called home and asked do to strip spare bed and hoover upstairs....hardly a mammoth task and he has point blank refused - said he is going to the gym and then for a pint and wont have time

he wont be going for a pint until after the gym. he is going to the gym at 12 and will likely be there till 2.30 ish, then haircut and a pint - hard life hey!

No dinner, clean clothes, or anything until he does the bed and hoovering. Tell him to pull his weight in the family or forget having any of the benefits of being in one. Oh, and stock up on laxatives to put in HIS drinks on Saturday night when your sis is here. He needs crushing and he needs it NOW.

Id say then

'well i cant be bothered to cook your tea'

When he gets back from the pub, ask how many pints he had in a jolly, pleasant way.

One pint = one large laxative dose to be administered when you are in the mood.
Two pints = two doses

Etc. etc.

The more he has drunk, the greater will your satisfaction be. It also gives you the opportunity to make enigmatic statements like 'Oh, that's going to be difficult for you' when he arsily replies that he's had four pints, not that it's any of your business.

Then get on with the important business of not making him any food, making sure the next supermarket shop omits any of his treats or favourites, making sure that all his clothes are at the bottom of the laundry pile, etc. etc.

ShoutyHamster, I would hate to piss you off

I looked at it from OP DH's point of view and have decided that it "depends".

Quite possibly DH has been very busy while he's been off - is this akin to the husband coming in from work and demanding to know what the SAHM has done all day?

If I'd made plans for the day I'd be pissed off if my OH rang up and demanded I did hoovering and bed changing. Particularly if it is now Friday morning and those are jobs that aren't needed until Saturday.

The "depends" bit is because - do you ever have any time where you just get to do what you want (as DH is doing today?). Is DH good about pitching in normally - e.g. might he do the beds tomorrow morning?

redsky - there is no way he will do any chores whilst I am at home, thats why I am so annoyed. When I am there it becomes my job - he looks after our garden and does odd buts if nagged enough, but otherwise its down to me
