Well we have been towed to a rather charmingly appointed service station in the general vicinity of heathrow. The entire young male population of west London is having an 'admire each others cars' convention while playing rubbish music.

DS is reclining in the drivers seat and periodically giggling because this is just The Best Fun Ever.

Waiting for van to take us rest of journey. It won't be here till half ten and then its driver has to have a break. Eta home is about 1am.

Oh no! I will be unrecognisable to the reversing woman and will have to start the whole standoff thing again. AA guys say car is a write off. Catastrophic engine failure apparently. Oil actually escaped from under the bonnet and ran down the sides of the car.
