To ignore the spiel of the local estate agent and sell my house through HouseNetwork instead?

Estate Agent - £5000

Surely it's a no-brainer.... Or is the estate agent right - will he be able to make up the difference by selling at a higher price?

YANBU to try and DIY but, unless you're in one of those streets where people knock on your door and beg you to sell, you'll need to invest in more than just the basic package. It's an advertising job so you might benefit from a board at the roadside, organising a viewing day, taking out an ad in the local paper etc. And if it doesn't work out, you've not lost much.
