We moved earlier this year, sooo much happier here, no regrets at all.
DS though (almost 5) really misses his old friends and has mentioned it loads lately, esp his old best friend.
But - her mum is a bit nuts. We met at baby group when they were 6 wks and they started school together in Sept as best friends. I became mates with her mum (mainly as the kids were such good friends), but she's a bit of a needy social disaster zone. I may be the only friend in the town who she didn't completely piss off and alienate, and I mainly kept in touch to help her sort her life out and for the sake of her DD.
We wouldn't really have anywhere to stay down there other than with them, but I'm just not sure I want to. It's 2.5 hrs drive so not a day trip (with baby in tow too). DS asks most days if we can go and visit. I've said we'll see.
I'd be happy to loose touch, but do I owe it to him to keep in touch with his best friend? Will he just get over it?
