just opened the door to 3 people asking me to give them my bank details for a regular donation to RSPCA! One of them looked like somebody out of the Sopranos!! - surely it can be a bit intimidating to some people?

Haha a chugger that managed to get through two locked security doors in to our building told me that "loads of my neighbours had donated to them and so why wouldn't I?"

Folk need to know that the R$PCA already has £119 MILLION in the bank yet a year or so ago decided that they "couldn't afford" to take in any more dogs from the public, so leaving them to be taken in by already over-exhausted, over-burdened independent rescues who themselves get little or no public support and often have no charity tax breaks.

The moral of this story - tell the three R$PCA muggers to fuck off and, if you wish to, donate to hardworking, struggling but morally respectable independent rescues or the Dogs Trust instead.

I knew about their bank balance dogs and the way they treat dogs and so i cancelled it.
They rang me to ask why and so I told them and the lad on the phone didn't know what to say (he probably didn't even know)

DogsBestFriend is that youvalhalla . Whoever you are thanks. I've had a regular dd set up for the RSPCA for years. They really piss me off with their constant phone calls asking me to up the amount. I will now be cancelling and giving the money to a local animal shelter.

Peta don't chug over here (as far as I know) but they're another kill rather than rehome charity.

In 2010 Peta recieved 2,345 animals. They transferred 63, rehomed 44 and killed 2,200. :(. In 11 years they've killed 25,000 animals.
