AIBU to think that competition winner announcements should not reveal the identity of MNers?!

I've just received an email from Nature's Path cereals, informing me that (luckily) I haven't won anything, but announcing who has - and putting their MN names after their RL ones!!

Surely this completely blows the anonymity of the talk boards out of the water?

What is MN's policy on this - and don't they communicate it to the companies who use the site to promote their wares?!

I noticed this earlier and meant to fire off a complaint, but RL has been tricky today, glad someone else has done it.

I saw this and thought thank fuck I didn't win then, bad form.

MN replied on the Site Stuff thread to say sorry and they were giving the company a good talking to.

don't suspect this is the norm at all, but with that comp, you had to go to their website separately to enter, rather than via the MN site.

shant go offsite for a comp again, just in case. I trust MN not to cock it up, but not another company.
