Are you talking about the fact that racism towards gypsies is pretty much accepted and you think people might relate the name to that or just the fact it's not a common name?
I have quite an uncommon name and it's never caused me any probs.
There was a Gypsy in Home and Away when I was younger but I've never heard it used as a name other than that.
Is it a friends chosen baby name or something?

I know a girl called Romany who is actually a Romany Gypsy. I can see there might be an argument for not calling someone Gypsy though, not only because unfortunately some people hold prejudices against them but because by the same logic you could call a child "African American" or "Eurasian". It's just a bit odd.

Gypsy, is not, in my opinion a good name for a child. DS was born on Xmas Day but we did not call him Jesus for the same reason. I did push for Joshua though.
