AIBU to think the foul language and vulgar tone of these threads is just too much

During the last few days the foul language, just a quick skim through the AIBU headings reveals such awful words, has been such that I don't think I will be coming back again too often. Mumsnet - Middle Class - Parenting orientated - really, is it really? Vulgar, nasty, ill mannered, spring more easily to mind. What a shame.

but joni, there ARE no boundaries here to be pushed!!

youarekidding · 15/06/2011 22:14

Ah anyfucker you beat me too it. Envy How the fuck did you google that so fast. I kept getting random violins but no small ones. Grin

Vagabond · 15/06/2011 22:14

I LOVE, JUST LOVE, the fact that I can say "glassed in the face" is more offensive than calling another member of Mumset a cunt.

Suddenly, I'm offensive! Ha.

Well, YOU are the one's who are stuffing England up. Yes YOU! Take notice. If you can POSSIBLY be proud of your posts tonight and show them to your family, full of self righteous indignation, then our nation is fucked an you are part of it because you're shameless.

Sediment sinks to the bottom and that's where most of you belong. You have NO insight. NO hope for your kids. Just swear and abuse and think that it's your fucking right to do so.

Shame on YOU.

AnyFucker · 15/06/2011 22:15

googled "worlds tiniest violin" Grin

usualsuspect · 15/06/2011 22:16

I think Vagabond is taking the piss now

EvenLessNarkyPuffin · 15/06/2011 22:16

If you don't want to swear, no one is forcing you to. Moaning about others swearing, on a site that's known for not censoring language, is silly.

You said it's not small minded and then ask what I meant by a petit bourgeois attitude?????

AnyFucker · 15/06/2011 22:17

vagabond, you need to calm down, I am fearful for your blood pressure, seriously

Northernlurker · 15/06/2011 22:17

No I'm not 'missing' that actually. I'm sure that's how you'd like to dress it up but what I see here is some women who should know better being abusive and unpleasant because somebody expressed an opinion about their behaviour. I wouldn't put up with seeing this on the street on RL - why do you expect me to shrug and say 'oh you jokers, my sides ache with laughing and I could ladder my tights on your irony. It's so sharp and pointy!'

NeverEvenHeardOfAgentZigzag · 15/06/2011 22:17

Northern and Vagabond are the Margot Leadbetters of the thread omigawd Grin

JanMorrow · 15/06/2011 22:17

You know what? I'm not angry, I'm disappointed..

Northernlurker · 15/06/2011 22:18

I don't think the nations gone to hell in a handcart though a la vagabond. I just think a lot less of some of you than I did. I'm sure you'll cope with that though.

AnyFucker · 15/06/2011 22:18

will no-one think of the children ?? < sob >

JoniRules · 15/06/2011 22:19

Vagabond - I don't think a lot of it is real. It's as you said hiding behind screen names and somehow expressing this persona that no one ever really would in real life. It's bravado and supposedly funny

NeverEvenHeardOfAgentZigzag · 15/06/2011 22:19

'You know what? I'm not angry, I'm disappointed..'

Now I know you're on the wind up janmorrow Grin

bleedingheartlefty · 15/06/2011 22:21

I think you have probably been offensive for a while actually, Vagabond.

JoniRules · 15/06/2011 22:21

No I actually really am asking what do you mean 'petit bourgeois', what does it mean in this context,

RockStockAndTwoOpenBottles · 15/06/2011 22:21

Usual i would hope so too, but sadly doubt it.

clemetteattlee · 15/06/2011 22:21

Vaga, are you the woman that stands in our town square on a Saturday yelling that we are all doomed and need to embrace Jesus?
Get a grip woman, these are friends calling their friends names. If you don't like it, don't join in, but how dare you presume that women who don't share your sense of humour are bad mothers?
I would counter that a woman who gets so wound up about other people enjoying themselves cannot possibly be a good mother.
There are loads of forums (fora?) that don't allow swearing - maybe your sanctimony would be more comfortable there...

i'd be amazed if my swearing were stuffing england up. absolutely fucking amazed.

LadyOfTheCuntryManor · 15/06/2011 22:23

I live in Wales.

I often shout cunts over the Severn Bridge. Does that count?

JoniRules · 15/06/2011 22:24

these are friends calling their friends names

Oh so you are all friends...in real life you are friends so that is why you call each other names. Right well that explains it then
