I need opinions asap!

I have painted the outside of my front door a new blue colour. I was planning to paint the inside of the front door white. However, DP has just chipped in that this is stupid, the whole door must be blue. My thoughts are that when the door is closed white is brighter plus blue doesn't go with decor ... not hideous but white is neutral and blends in.

So should the front and back fo the door be the same colour or is it acceptable to have the inside only white?

Please give opinions!

green outside. inside white.

JanMorrow · 15/06/2011 16:43

Mine is pillar box red outside, and white inside. I never even considered having red inside.. that would be hideous!

pooka · 15/06/2011 16:44

OUtside edge in outside colour.

Raebeech · 15/06/2011 16:48

Wood effect outside, white inside, same as the rest of the internal woodwork!

microserf · 15/06/2011 16:48

oldraver · 15/06/2011 16:57

Black outside, white inside here. Your DH is as wrong as a wrong thing.

emptyshell · 15/06/2011 17:47

Blue outside, white inside - it's just one of those occasions where you tell your fella to stop doing the "having ideas" thing.

Ours is woodstain though on both sides (hate UPVC) - backdoor's woodstain and carpet to stop the dog scratching at it.

lurkerspeaks · 15/06/2011 17:50

Mine is grey outside and white inside.

Your DH is weird.

Orbinator · 15/06/2011 18:00

Amieesmum · 15/06/2011 18:02

trixymalixy · 15/06/2011 19:19

Red outside, off White inside.

WearegoingonaKwazihunt · 15/06/2011 19:25

Oh dear - I'm with your DH. It would never have occurred to me to paint it a different colour inside Blush

We have a new front door and we are painting it dark grey outside and in.
Should it not be grey inside?
how odd that I didn't know this.

youarekidding · 15/06/2011 19:27

Mines white outside and in. Grin

YANBU though.

Riddo · 15/06/2011 19:42

YANBU - ours is blue on both sides as it leads into the porch. Door into hall is cream on both sides.

Having said that the two sided blue door was DH's decision - it wouldn't have been mine! Grin

Lancelottie · 15/06/2011 19:46

mine's plastic with obscure glass panels

It's as horrible as it sounds.

ashamedandconfused · 15/06/2011 19:47

ours is white and white - I am envious of all these nice coloured front doors!

most round here are white or brown

thefirstMrsDeVere · 15/06/2011 19:58

Mine is pink inside and out and I am saving up for some lovely glittery frosting stuff with butterflies on it for the windows.
