Just trying to get traffic really.
I think I am right to be cross with her for not telling me.
I have stressed this point to her.
That accidents happen but she must must must tell me!
Not throw the cover over it and then play games in the bed when her friend comes round.
They played in that stinking bed!!
(a night and day game, nothing bad. Wink Apparently you open the curtains, it's day, shut them and you have to clamber into the bed and throw the covers over till 'morning'. They are 4.5)

Anyway
How do you get stale pee out of a mattress!?
HELP!

Sprinkle liberally with bicarb, leave for a couple of hours and it will absorb the smell, then hoover

I am unfortunately quite experienced at mattress cleaning! This is what I do and it has always worked:

  1. Scrub pee stained section with hot soapy water.
  2. Put lots of towels on section and walk up and down on them until most of the moisture gone (best not to do this in public view!)
  3. Put lots of bicarbonate of soda all over section - this neutralises the smell!
  4. Put mattress out to dry in the sun or somewhere warm until dry.
  5. Hoover off the bicarb.
I discovered this when my kids (then 3 and 4) decided it would be fun to pee on the bed in the DAYTIME for no apparent reason......... good luck!

Flipwit, that actually got an out loud chortle gasp from me!
Peeing on it in the daytime!!

I like your method too.
I know I have bicarb, don't have antibac or febreeze in at the mo.
I normally do. (DHs $rse! You wouldn't believe!)

Cheers Lady's.
I always know I can rely on MN!!
