To have quite enjoyed watching the young men from the swimming club train this afternoon?

It's swimming lesson night for my DC.

I take them to the the edge of the pool and then retire to the viewing area, as instructed.

The pool has 8 lanes, my Dc are in the 2 lanes furthest from me at the opposite side of the pool. Lanes 4,5,6 are occupied by some of the most beautifully built young men I've ever seen and I did get a bit distracted from my DC's lessons!

I don't think I was letching, more admiring (both bodies and swimming ability actually - it was beautiful to watch) and in my defence I did think they were adults to start with, but as there were a group of mothers waiting to drive them home, I suspect they night not have quite been men!

Would you have watched - difficult not to, as in my direct line of vision, but would you?

You were admiring bodies belonging to people of an age likley to have mothers drive them to and from swimming lessons?! Are you serious?

If this were a site full of Dad's, and there had been a bunch of well developed 14 year old girls at the pool, would you still think it appropriate to ask this question?

Bodies can be beautiful, especially in action. You weren't sitting there going "wow I'd shag that"

My DS does a sport. The club he does it at has young men in their 20's training. When I was in my mid-thirties and he had just started training there I did used to watch and appreciate the fit young male specimens.

And one of the coaches was definitely on the I'd do him list. again

20's is not driven home by their mum's age. Admire, OK, lust after, NO WAY!! Agree that if this was reversed there'd be uproar. Nothing wrong with looking, but depends what you thought when looking!?!

The coach, who was only 4 or 5 years younger than me, he was a phwoar. Sorry but he was.

He even chatted me up one day when he didn't know who I was and it was all very flattering and going rather well until DS ran past and went "hello mum"

I think physically fit bodies in action can be inspiring to watch in the sense that wow - (a) other people's bodies can do that (er.....mine generally can't); and (b) aesthetically beautiful in the same way as admiring art or architecture so I don't think there is something intrinsically wrong with admiration. Letching oversteps the mark though and would be really weird in my view.

I never understand why old people fancying young people doesn't make the old person feel older and less attractive (not directed at you OP just speculating on people like Peter Stringfellow et al)? The contrast just makes the old person look older?

I would have watched and probably asked the mums what they were training for, being nosey-like.

Hell - that's it exactly, it was an aesthetically beautiful thing with the young guys
