to worry about leaving my PFV alone when it's being valeted?

I know, I know.

It will be safe from harm, but I've only had it 3 years and although I've had many cars, this one is my favouritist and best.

Blush

I could stay - although it's discouraged - they just seem to want to get on with it, with precious owners overseeing the process.

It only takes about an hour and I know I could have a Maxpack plastic soup, and I think they may have a copy of National Geographic available.

Perhaps I just hover for 10 mins to settle it in and then reluctantly go elsewhere doing fauxchores to fill the anxious time?

What happens if it is subjected to some inappropriate music? I've heard of instances of the uncut Rihanna song S&M being played in these places. Shock

What happens if they use the wrong detergent - I always have an organic one for use at home with no artificial colours or flavourings, could I trust them only to use my preferred brand?

I know some of friends just park and go without a care in the world, but I don't know if I'm ready for that sort of fast and loose abandonment. Sad

Do you think it gets easier to be so blase about this sticky situation?

AIBU to be so reluctant to let my PFV take these first steps into independence?

Do the valeting yourself. You know it's going to be safer Smile

You can put some nice, soothing music on and gently wash and vacuum to your hearts delight.

Mandy2003 · 12/06/2011 22:25

Fauxchores - brilliant Grin

I'm not sure about the uncut S&M - more likely to be Pashto or (insert nationality here) folk music! Have you ever heard Polish reggae Hmm

YANBU! No way would I leave my PFV alone while it?s being valeted! You say it will be safe from harm but how can you know! Has everyone there been CRB checked? There are some right pervs who work with cars - www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article21242.ece Honestly the type of music they play and detergent they use are the least of your worries.

Either valet the car yourself or be prepared to hover over your PFV the whole time. If you do take your car to be valeted then make sure you take your own food and drink with you as they probably won?t be expecting you to stay and they?ll be too busy keeping an eye on everyone else's DV to offer you anything.

Oh and insist that only female valets wash and vacuum your PFV.
