Other charities need to be considered?

Everywhere I seem to look, the charity involved is for breast cancer, cervical cancer or any other type of cancer.

What about charities like Mind, DeafBlind UK, etc? I've suffered for depression as have my mother and father, and I've also had the worry of cervical changes and a cone biopsy being undertaken - thankfully nothing sinister was found.

But it gets me thinking, how do these other important organisations get funding? I know people who do run marathons for Mind, but it gets nothing in the way of press like cancer charities.

This is a genuine question, and wasn't intended to offend or upset. I'm not the greatest at constructing my words.
