to wonder when MNHQ introduced the policy to delete threads simply because people are disagreeing?

I was just on a thread.
There was a disagreement over whether or not something was racist/offensive.

I could see no personal attacks, there was nothing that breached the talk guidelines.
I have no idea why the thread has been deleted.

So i can only assume it was because there was a disagreement on it.

Is this a new policy? Will we be seeing the vast majority of all threads being deleted now then?

Balls to MN Royalty. I've only been here a year, and I'm an MN Young Gun

I read the Day Orphanages thread. It was fucking marvellous.

BitOfFun · 11/06/2011 19:15

I'm a Scouser.

Feenie · 11/06/2011 19:15

SuePurblybilt · 11/06/2011 19:15

I say

BitOfFun · 11/06/2011 19:16

Young Guns sound terribly glamorous and exciting. I may reregister so I can join their gang.

Hullygully · 11/06/2011 19:16

Yeah, we all agreed you don't count, Beer

Sn0wflake · 11/06/2011 19:16

Oh Cheers BOF. Don't worry I don't post enough for people to remember if I have associated with the 'cool' people.

Hullygully · 11/06/2011 19:17

Oh no watch it, we might have a laugh again and offend er, er, the offended

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 11/06/2011 19:17

Please who is WWIFN?

ChessPiece · 11/06/2011 19:17

Oh, no - WWIFN was superb.

What a loss to MN posters who are in distress.

Goblinchild · 11/06/2011 19:19

'Did I mention I am from the North?'

Which bit though? It's Yorkshire that's God's Own Country.

pumpernickel10 · 11/06/2011 19:20

Well I'm a brummie and I'm rougher than the lot if ya

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 11/06/2011 19:20

To be MN royalty you'd have to take yourself terribly seriously. I doubt that anyone talking in cockney rhyming slang falls in to that category.

pink4ever · 11/06/2011 19:21

"my kind" shirley-you are really tripping yourself up with your use of language there me thinks. Oh and feck off yourself. READ my post again-didnt accuse you of racism.Said I didnt like the tone the thread as was all very nasty and cliquey-not the light hearted fun you are making it out to be. Deny it all you want but I am not the only poster who thought this. The only one who stands up for herself at this moment sadly.

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 11/06/2011 19:21

I'm from essex

ShirleyKnot · 11/06/2011 19:22

Careful all - we're heading into a gang/royalty area now.

(ShirleyKnot is way..the posts by ShirleyKnot are inhabited by a very angry person)

I'm a bit Jewish, and a bit northern, and was born in a muslim country to smashed hippies but have a slight posh west country accent....I really think I'm a minority.

Right I'm going to order a takeaway. I'm eating junk food for two.

TandB · 11/06/2011 19:24

Since I am not MN royalty, am I allowed to point out that suggesting that a fairly large group of posters should not be allowed to post silly song lyrics and make jokes about south London on a thread that had started off in an unpleasant way, just in case others are offended by not feeling part of the 'gang' is completely and totally bonkers.

Perhaps long standing posters should only be permitted to post in groups of three or less? We could have warnings on threads like the ones some corner shops have about no more than two schoolchildren at a time.

Or maybe there should be a rule that no one is allowed to respond or engage with any poster other than the OP to avoid in jokes and cliques?

There are a lot of bollocks arguments being employed these days, like the recurring suggestion that if any well known poster is attacked and they defend themselves, they are bullying or proving the attackers point. It is bizarre since the accusations about MN royalty generally take the form of accusations that certain posters are trying to run MN according to their own wishes and criteria. Surely that is exactly what the people telling them they shouldn't share jokes on a thread are doing?

pumpernickel10 · 11/06/2011 19:25

I've heard cliquey before on here this is my view, best me up if you dint agree. It's like being down your local pub with all your mates who you already know a new friend comes in you won't talk as much to the new one as with the older friends, same here, but once you get involved with the forums you start making friends. You get recognised it's really that simple. I'm new here and I'm having a great time

MyLittleWerewolf · 11/06/2011 19:26

I think if you consider yourself to be anything more substantial than a constellation of pixels on a screen when you're on the internet then you need to have a long hard look at yourself.

A. Long. Hard. Fucking. Look.

Except for the MN Young Guns)

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 11/06/2011 19:26

I love you, kungfu.
