keep at it!
i started running 18 months ago originally. i did couch to 5k. it is really really hard going to start with....stick with it - dont think about it too much, just keep going. thats what im doing....it takes me nearly 40 mins to do 5k! Blush

I have to admit that i am thinking of starting running again ,even though it took me forever to reach the 5k point . Good trainers are essential , working out your breathing and not pushing yourself too far too soon . I struggled with the whole walk a minute ,run a minute malarky , and then one wet dark evening i thought bugger it and just ran , for a full 10 minutes without stopping ! As for knees ,mine never looked better than when i was running . Oh and i did this as an overweight ,20 a day smoker .

I run and when I've been injured or not bothered and not run for a while I do run a minute walk a minute, starting with 15 min and building up, so run 2 min walk 1 min, run 3 walk 1 etc as days progress.
The running is just a gentle jog to start with though, so not pulling muscles and getting out of breath. If you run for a minute like it's a 200m race you will feel awful. Take it easy. If you don't enjoy it after a few weeks switch to something else.
I only run 3-4 times a week and can't run first thing on a morning as get sore achilles.
