When DH is at home all weekend, the house seems to be really whiffy.

I do three "big cleans" per week, inclusing mopping the wood floors, polishing every surface, vacuuming sofas/under beds, disinfecting the bog etc etc. I do one of a friday afternoon. DH gets in at about 3pm on fridays. By 7pm, the house is like a squat: fusty musty smell, sofa cushions all squished, tea rings on the worktops, pubes all over the bog seat, just general whiffery, really.

I can't wait for him to go back to work tomorrow so that I may cleanse the house. I don't understand why this is as he is very groomed, almost to the point of being one of those metrosexuals what I hear about, but he does make the house smell/look fug. Anyone else have the same problem?

I can't wait for my DH to piss off back to work either.

You are a domestic goddess but you are needed on your other thread quick smart.

Dettol at the ready, 8am sharp tomorrow?

I don't have this problem, but some of the things you describe could be easily remedied (by him I mean, not you).

e.g. ask him to check the loo after every use and wipe away any stray hair or other marks. The tea rings would irritate me, but again he could easily wipe up after himself. Could you open a window when he is home?

i no how it is i hav the children all week but still manage to keep things sort of ok , come wk end when am at work all hell breaks loose , takes me the rest of the wk to sort it , and then starts all over again .x

Yers.... Mine was on lates last week so I was relaxing on the sofa of an evening in a sparkly clean room, kitchen clean and tidy, and retiring to a calm tidy bedroom that smelled of body lotion.

This weekend I've been knee deep in shit, tripping over dirty running gear 'waiting' to go in the wash basket (wtf? Does it take the fucking bus there?), with coffee grounds and milk top foils everywhere. And when I went to bed last night the room smelled of fart.

Men smell not quite right to me. Yes, it might be because I prefer women, but they have always smelled unappealing. Straight women tell me they like the smell of a man.
There is just something about the smell of men, even the cleanest and gayest of men, sprayed in very expensive something, that puts me right off.

Wafts Yankee Candles about the thread.. \o/

What you need to do ladies, is as soon as your DH comes home, force him into a sleeping bag, the kind that goes up over his head, zip him in and padlock it. All hair, fluids, smells and other boaksome stuff is contained...

Monday morning, shove him out in his sleeping bag to go to work...

thegruffalosma · 05/06/2011 21:26

Lol at people having to open their windows when their dh is home!

bupcakesandcunting · 05/06/2011 21:27

Men smell of bins. Trufax. My girlfriends and I left a boozer the other week because it reeked of men.

DH is on nights this week, lovely tidy house, bedroom smells of lavender and clean sheets on the bed, Just sheer bliss. :)

babymamma11 · 05/06/2011 21:50

Ah yes the joys of the night shift :) Cheers ladies Wine

Lyingi do hope the candles are baby powder scent, I love them.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 05/06/2011 21:54

Umm, 'Soft Towels' actually, babymamma. I'm not normally a lover of that type of fragrance but I love that one, probably because it's got amber fragrance in it.

Although... never met a Yankee Candle I didn't adore like. Grin

Am I blessed with a neat and tidy husband who see's the house work as a competition. He thinks he can get the bathroom cleaner in a shorter amount of time! It keeps him on his toes bless him!

ReadyToDrink · 06/06/2011 01:38
