to think that if you ask a question you'll get an honest answer?

My friend draws her eyebrows on,and yesterday asked if they looked alright.I said no one of them was wonky and she got thick over it.

Did she not want an honest answer?

Like if someone is trying on clothes and ask me how do they look,I'll always answer honestly.

YANBU. She wouldn't have thanked you if she went around all day with a wonky brow and then noticed when she got home.

Well, you can be honest without being blunt. eg well, that one's a wee bit squint or whatever. Some people don't wnat the truth though!

BluddyMoFo, I ask DP that all the time and he is honest about it. At first I was a bit miffed but it has helped me have a better view of myself.

I'd always want someone to tell me my skirt is in my knickers, but I wouldn't want them laughing their asses off at me...

All i said was the left one is grand but the right one is all wonky.I did offer a babywipe,pencil and mirror

I certainly wouldnt expect anyone to pet my ego and tell me I look great if I dont.

I'd also go for the honesty with tact approach, there are ways of assisting someone without making them feel like s*.

I think eyebrows painted on always look wrong....don't know why people do it.

I try and be tactful too but some people, even if they ask, want to be flattered rather than told the truth....

What is the story with drawing your eyebrows on? Do people actually have them completely waxed off (or whatever) on purpose? I always assumed it was a 'tidying' job gone wrong.

My friend shaved off her eyebrows when she was little and they never grew back. She has since had some tattooed on (not like a big black tat or anything...).

They do look a little odd, but not as odd as having no eyebrows....

But why stop at eyebrows - why not draw on some Aunt Sally red cheeks, a Hitler moustache and eyelashes?

My MIL has to draw on eyebrows, something to do with overplucking them in the 60s (I think).

Never thought anything of it, till we all went on holiday together and I saw her first thing without her brows. Most odd. It took a while, actually, for me to work out what was wrong...

Im fed up with people moaning about me telling the truth, ffs if you dont want the truth then dont ask the question!!
