All this stuff has started happening but I can't prove its them its so fucking annoying. Around easter holidays I heard them loudly complaining that the weeds from my garden near the fence was ruining their garden and they even seemed to suggest I was chucking crisp packets etc in their garden. Anyway I heard nothing else so assumed they'd got over their tantrum but 2 weeks ago DS went outside to put some rubbish in the bed and stood straight on what appeared to be dog poo at best, Human poo at worst on the doorstep. Whichever it was it must have been put there delibrately because what dog would climb onto a doorstep to take a shit??? Anyway that has now happened 3 times. On saturday I spent hours planting flowers around my front garden borders. Sunday morning all there still looking lovely. Sunday afternoon I came back from shopping and every singe one of them had been dug up and stolen. There was soil and mess all over the garden. Then low and behold I look out of the bedroom window and next door have the EXACT same flowers suddenly bordering their garden!!! But I can't prove they are mine. Then to top it all off, I go out this morning and someone has painted one of my car wheels bright red.

If I have zero proof and they're unreasonable to talk to, is there ANYTHING I can realistically do other than set up CCTV???

Certainly sounds like someone has a vendetta.

Ask them if they saw anyone taking your flowers. Most people are shit liers, you will pick up if they are lying to you.

You cant proove it but then you will know for sure.

Might be worth you setting up CCTV outside the front, I know you said other than that but its still worth a shot.

Surely this cant all be because of some weeds? whats their issue?

Notify the police.

CCTV and police I think. The CCTV is a pain but worth it I think as these things rarely fixxle out and you want proof as soon as possible and before things go nasty.

You must notify the Police. It will be recorded and any subsequent incidents. It's antisocial behaviour and they must take it seriously. You can take photos. So sorry, do try to keep calm about it although you must be boiling inside. Be proactive and notify the Police.

Def phone the police. Just a thought on the poo front, although given everything else this may be a long shot, it could be a fox if you have them in your area - foxes patic male ones have a thing about pooing on a raised area so it can be seen, it's a territorial thing. Another thought on the poo, is if it is human, then DNA can be collected from it by police if need be, not sure if they would or not but in terms of evidence if they investigate it might be useful. Hope you get a resolution soon.

Contact the police to advise them of the theft of your flowers, the vandalism of your car and the dog shit. Get a crime reference or a log no. (use alongside the date you got it) at the very least. Start keeping a diary and advise the police that you are doing this. Report any other crime to the police, even if it is minor and keep a record of your calls etc. Always quote the original crime reference/log no when you do so. Take photographic evidence of everything you possibly can.

No point asking your neighbours about it. Even if they are shit liers and it is obvious, they'll still be denying it. Sounds unlikely that they'll smile and say 2Yeah! That WAS us. What did you think?" Behave with absolute courtesy to them at all times, however hard it might be to do so. If it carries on, at some point they will cock up or you will witness something and then you can advise the police.

This is horrible - I'm really sorry for you.

On a final - slightly sidetracked - note: is dog poo better than human poo? Neither are pleasant, but I think the latter is slightly preferable.

Oh, other option is your local anti-social behaviour team (if you live in a housing association property, they should have a similar equivalent that could also help). They can often assist in providing surveillance equipment (the police can do this as well, but may be quite slow in doing so).

say nothing to neighbours and set up the CCTV. is tehre anyway you can set it up that would show them coming from their house. otehrwise if they cover their faces tehn the CCTV wont prove it was them./

Definitely call the police. The neighbours might get spooked when they see the police car outside your door and/or you showing a PC where the flowers were etc.

Keep a Diary. People have set up CCTV for less.

Yes to calling the police and setting up cctv. What an awful situation to find yourself in have you lived next door to them for long?

I really hope you can get this sorted. X

deepheat on a lighter note, if I were to chose poo to be on my doorstep I think I would prefer dog to human!

Yes, contace the police, keep a diary and take photos. Also...maybe a teeny tiny marking on things...that way, if it's stolen...

Report everything.

It is worth calling the police over.

Also report each incident on Fix My Street as they send all reports to the local council, who in turn will ask the Safer Neighbourhood Team in your area to keep an eye on things.

If you have Neighbourhood Watch then report it to them.

And certainly ask about the more reasonable and friendly neighbours if they have seen anything and ask if they would mind being aware of the issue and keeping an eye out for anyone behaving oddly around your house, garden and car.

And as everyone else has said, keep a diary.

I think the police can even trace dog DNA. And if I had to find poo on my doorstep I think I would chose dog poo over human poo as well. Leaving dog poo is crazy but leaving human poo is bat shit crazy (sorry, had to be said Grin) and therefore is much worse.

And yes, get CCTV in the front and back.

Also I agree with Lunabelly make markings on things and take pictures of the markings as proof as well as off any abandoned poo and random damage.
